Giving BULLDOGS a New Name

Our good friend Josh (JAG) just got back from Montana where he has been Cowboying the last couple of months, on his way back home he stopped and spent the night with me so Phillip and I put on a little hunt to welcome him back home. We took the B Team this time (we dont have an A Team)....lol
We had planned on going to a big property we havent been to since winter but as we were loading up a little old lady we hunt on called us and said she wanted us to come over right now and get these hogs out of her yard! about two hrs before she watched 19 hogs that she counted walk through her yard into the pasture and right into the woods  behind her house. She is only 5 mins down the road so we decided to help her out. We got there shortly after dark unloaded the dogs and 4 wheelers and started across the pasture where she described she saw the hogs. I noticed one of the dogs getting a little piggy and about that time ZIG fell bayed about 300 yds on the edge of the wood line, Daisy fresh off wiening pups right behind him then Bit and Salty! We only took MAX with us to catch so we tried to ride as close as possible, stopped about 75 yds and sent MAX in, Josh is a speedster and is right on MAX's heels but it broke about the time we cut Max loose, the hog went about 400 yds with three gritty cur dogs and Max in tow. They got him stopped and MAX caught him. By the time we got to them the cur dogs were completely exhausted and about to over heat. Max was caught by himself on a 225# Boar with good teeth, he had a deep poke in his chest that was bleeding pretty bad. When Josh legged the Boar the cur dogs caught again. Phillip stuck him and cut his head off for the barn roof. We decided to catch the dogs up and give them a chance to cool off on our way to the next place. We hunted hard for the next three hrs and caught another big Sow Bit bayed this one, sent max in, he caught the 200# sow quick and easy, she had some BIG teeth. Salty and ZIG rolled out and split bayed about 3/4 mile, it took us forever to get to them (more than an hr) and they couldnt hold the bays by themselves. and our hunt was over. We had a wonderful time with Josh and look forward to hunting the TDHA hunt with him next year.

Josh, it was nice having you here at our home again.  You are welcome any time.

Bobby, Salty is doing very good and Max is tough, he'll be fine.  He is going out tonight.  I think we need a bigger vest (quote from Jaws)  :-)
