Took my dog to my buddies house to start workin him in the pen. Turned him loose in the pen n he bayed the piss out of that hog but he keep actin like he wanted to catch it so I got in the pen with him n he caught right away. Then me n my buddy n cousin hobbled the hog n turned it loose. We went n got my buddies 1/2 redbone n 1/2plott gyp n then turned them loose to c if they could find the hog. They went out about 60 or 70 yards out n had the hog bayed up n as soon as we got there the dogs caught. Had a good day workin the dogs n we have some high hopes for these dogs. Hope they turn out for us. Thanks for lookn.

i just bought a 4 month old 1/2 plott 1/2 bmc from a guy in SW Ark. that im excited about. shes baying tight in the pen already. likes the hog to look her in the eye. if he turns she puts teeth on him. none of my other  dogs showed this much interest at such a young age.

Good deal.....I hope they stay true for you boys and make jam up dogs. Been doing this for a long time and I don't think I've ever seen a 'sorry' half Plott dog.....granted some are better than others, but a half Plott dog has the deck stacked in his favor right off the bat in my opinion.

Yea I like them ol plott crosses. My dog was the same way ur gyp is catch n tie but now he's gottin rougher as he's gettin older. When he's was around 6 months old he would just sit back n bay the pissout of them hogs. Now he's at a year old n is rough as a cobb I can put him in a pen with any hog n he'll bay it but if I get n the pen with him he'll try to catch which I don't mind him being rough I just don't want him to get too rough.

I'd breed her to a plott if I was you but that's JMO. Just make sure you breed her to a plott that has all the qualities in like and want in a dog.

if i keep her, and dont breed her back to a BMC, i will breed her to a plott that my buddy has, fast, and gritty, maybe a little too gritty.  i have two from the same line that i really like.  fixin to breed my plott as soon as she comes in, to the same male.

When i first started hunting i got 4 bmc/plott crosses from a guy in arkansas. They were a very ,very rough group of dogs . We  didnt have a problem finding and shutting a hog down.

sure thing, she should be comin in pretty soon,  i got three in right now and its like dominos, the female is not real catchy but bays tight and will pull hair, but she has no quit in her,  the male is kinda young but started real early, good trail dog, and is rough as a cob, plus i know what he is out of.
