We all knew Pat probably wouldn't die of old age, just no way he would let that happen..
When I was loading up to go that morning I had planned on just taking Rain but Pat was wanting to go so bad and just standing there barkin like hell knowing I was about to go huntin again without him. I just couldn't stand to leave him at the house again.. When I got there I saw a huge track right where I parked so I just went ahead and dropped Pat. He left and didn't go 300 yards and bayed but I could tell the hog was running him bad . I grabbed the bulldog out the box and started that way. Pat must have been spittin on the end of his nose because he was baying harder than I think I've ever heard him and I knew he wasn't gonna put up with too much of that hog runnin him around. I got about 200 yards from them and sure enough I heard the hog run at him again and Pat hooked up on him. Then about 5 seconds later everything went silent but Pat never moved . I watched him on the gps for a minute or two and I knew what happened. I just turned the bulldog loose and went to him. He was dead when I got there..
Danny he was as much your dog as he was mine and I sure hated to have to make that phone call.
Never expected to own another dog I liked as much as Oswald but Pat was it. They just don't get any better in my book..

RIP PAT

Sorry to hear that.  I remember reading about Pat in some of your other reports and he sounds like a real good dog.  On top of that he had a cool name.  Don't see many Pats in the woods.

RIP Pat

Man,
I hate to hear that.  Was the hog around when you got in there?  I sure hope you get that beast caught.  Again, sorry to hear about your loss.

Man, when I seen the title to this thread my heart sank and I didn’t want to even open it up and read it at first. I was right. I didn’t want to read it.
I have been a member of the Patrick fan club for a while now and I hate like hell to hear this news!
It really has been a bad year for good dogs!

RIP Pat

The hog was gone. I turned the bulldog loose just hoping he would luck up and run into the hog but it didn't happen. But you can bet your ass I'm goin back to get him..
