for all of you guys who keep hogs to train your dogs on. i have a question.
when you train your dogs on a boar hog. do you find you catch more boar hogs.
during the time when i kept records of my hunts i found i did catch more boar hogs when i trained my dogs on a boar. so what do you guys think. yes or no. _________________ Make sure you are right, then go ahead.

Never thought about that... I just used whatever hog I had available at the time?
I do notice you go through spells where all you catch is sows and shoats and then all boar hogs.

Same here i have just used whatever pigs i got. I get on those spells to last winter we got on an awesome boarhog spell no lie we caught 23 boars that weighed over 220lbs in two months. I think it was just the dogs we had though because they are gone now and we have been having a little trouble stopping those big bad running boars that we use to be able to catch with ease.

alot of times when you catch boar hogs is because theyre scent is alot stronger than a sows too.. if they were in a group the dogs would most likely track to the boars instead of the sows
