I recently got a Marshall tracking system (used), but in pretty good shape, physically. Its a Field 10 collar system.
Question is: What is the range on a system like this? I know there are many variables; terrain, power sources, etc...
I'm getting around 2.5 miles out of the Marshall collars and about 1.5 miles to 1.75 out of the Midnight tracking collars, and this is through a pretty good thicket out in SHNF area. Is this normal range for the marshal systems, or could something be wrong internally in the receiver?

I've herd folks CLAIM 5.5 miles out of the same system.

Case, call marshall and see what it would cost for a "tune up" I have the same one and you should be able to get more range than that.

I kind of assumed I should be able to get more, although 2.5 miles it a pretty good distance.
I just wanted some feedback from those that use Marshall. Thank You!

I have got 5 miles in rough mountains with a marshal on half the power knob.

I talked to Marshall and they say if I send it in they would refurbish it, if necessary at worst case scenario, for around $125.00. They said its most likely the transmitters though??? I guess they assume all four collars are weak and their recievers dont break/weaken???
QUESTIONS:
Have you ever sent your receivers/transmitters in to be fixed by Marshall?
Were you satisfied with what they did?
Is there anyone local (in Texas) that works on Marshall product or tracking systems in general?

I haven't owned a Marshall but for 125 dollars it is a no brainer. I would use the outfitter that makes them... |
