We made a hunt Friday night at a new spot in Matagorda County.  A pasture at my buddy's place was getting rooted pretty bad.  It was my first time at the spot so I didn't have the hogs patterned.  Just going on what was verbally layed out to us, we headed out.  We started down a fence row working away from the county road.  We might have made it 100 yards when my dogs struck way to the right side of the field.  We headed over there and after we got close we heard them baying solid across the other side of the road.  I remembered seeing lights from what had to be a farm house ducked off the road.  Although the dogs were bayed probably 40 yards in the brush, I decided the right thing to do was go to the farm house and get permission.  We walked 100 yards down the county road and then was heading another 200 yards into the place when we heard the bay go silent.  We stopped and listened and then the dogs bayed up again, this time behind the farm house.  It was already 10:30pm and I was a little leary about knockin on the door but I had to at this point.  We explained what happened and the gentlemen told us to go right ahead.  We caught the hog and when we brought it out, several other people came out to see what was going on.  Turns out, one of the visitors staying at the house was a second cousin of mine.  I would have never of known it had we not have gone to the house.  We're looking forward to more hunts at this spot, especially since there's hogs all over the place.

Here's some pics.  Solid Bays.
