the best i can tell ya is " listen with ya eyes cause ya ears will lie to ya " ....  it seems i read that somwhere  Grin

That is some of the best advise I ever got jdt.. lol

Breed preferance is one thing but probably more important is the man you get your pup or dog from..Other than some pure luck or raising your own for in some cases years and years, Many of the  folks I  know the best dog they ever got from someone else was given to them not bought.  Don't just  buy off on or let someone tell you what you want to hear or get sucked up on something that is just simply to good to be true. Go, hunt with em, several times.. In fact go hunt with as many different dogs and people as you can befor  you take the leap would be my advise. A good mentor in your area that hunts and raises dogs can be a real asset to you so you might consider that.
Good luck to ya...

X2

It seems that with some breeders that want to move pups for the money don't really care if the dog will hunt as much as they want to make a sale. With these type of folks don't tell them what you are looking for in a dog because it seems that these type of people always have just what you are looking for. Grin Shocked

A good and conscientious breeder cares more about selling a high quality pup more than making the money and others only want enough money to help cover a few expenses.

Don't think that the farther away you go to buy a pup that the better the pup. Sometimes the best ones are right around the corner from you... Smiley

Just make sure that whatever breed you choose has some high quality hog dogs in the immediate background and further back in the bloodline would be a big plus.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...

Lacy and BMC go figure Lacys are great and well BMC are to but the lacy are sometimes harder to find that really work and well BMC are bred till you have culls and have good ones it is how you raise them I would recommed getting some pups and raising them yourself and when you do that hunt with their parents and or their grandparents and see how they hunt
