just wanted to say thanks for a couple of good years on here. i have often told my wife that some of the best people i have ever met has been through hog hunting. i know that there are some very good people out there i havent gotten the pleasure of meeting yet, but hope to soon.all that having been said i now say goodbye.i have neglected time with my family andmostly God, putting hog doggin first more often than not .for this i am ashamed. i will still hog hunt , but not near at the pace i once did. making sure it remaines a hobby and not a priority. i also wish the best for all of you, especially raider 54, because no matter his thoughts of me , i called him friend for 3 years, and i want him to do well.the Bible sais that anything put befor God is an idol.and after the debt he erased through Jesus work at the cross for me. i will choose him over all. i also wanted to appologize for anything i may have said in the past to any body on here that was meant negativly or taken that way. im not perfect yet, but will be when i get home(heaven). once agian i say THANK YOU and i will be praying for all of you.Jesus loves you

Man I know what you mean about the priorities! I'm glad that you are trying to find a balance between your hobby and your family and God. If you put God first He will reward that. Nothing is worth sacrificing your family over either. I like to say that I'm a christian that hog hunts, not a hog hunter that is a christian. It's hard to be a real leader for your family when you are never with them. I wish you and your family the best.

To error is human , to forgive Devine ,I've been invited to hunt with you and Paul but was unable to make it. I hope I get a chance again in the future. Remember when one door closes another door allways opens, you never know where the good lord is gonna lead ya and nothin is more important than family. God bless. DW

X2, sounds like your heading in the right direction. Family, God, then hunting!

Philip,

I know what you are talking about brother. A few years ago i was team roping 5 nights a week and neglecting my family and God. Well one night God took team roping away from me forever. I had no doubt the reason and im not bitter about it. Now i never let anything come between whats truly important. Hog hunting is purely for recreation for me but thats it. I have no doubt that if it ever got out of hand the good lord could take that from me just as quickly. You have a great family and there will always be hogs to catch!

Phillip thats good advice for many, and all of us at one time or another struggle with different forms of idolitry, its much easier to pray for wisdom and the ability to use it that wisdom then to change on our own than to make/wait for God to dicipline us (his chosen children)

Good Decsion, FYI hunting once or twice a wk 50 wks a yr is not cutting back to most of us  Grin
