We have had a round with the dogs here lately, Chance is up and going after his broken leg but we wound up running over our Lucy puppy who squatted in front of the truck  Angry so she is out until the first of the year but is looking like she will be OK.

We went 2 weeks ago and caught a good boar hog in the cane with our Goober (uncle)/Tanna (momma) and Chance.  All three dogs wound up getting cut, which is unusual for Tanna to get that close and Chance is following in his daddy/uncle's foot steps on grittiness.

The puppies are getting a late start but it is finally starting to click, slowly but surely.  Booger (Chance's brother) is not nearly as gritty but helped catch a decent hog this past weekend, although it was by the hind leg  Undecided but hopefully he will out grow that.

We also followed up on a brother to our puppies, who hasnt been started at all but the guy who had him tossed him out on a hog just to "see" what he would do - he bayed it like he had been doing it for years ...then come to find out the hog reportedly had psuedo rabies so now they arent sure if he was one of them that contracted it.

We wound up catching this hog last weekend in an open field which we havent done in over a year and we also caught a small sow in the standing cane but the dogs tore her up before the guys made it there, the "action" shots are shoddy but he was all scarred up and wound up cutting our litttle Forrest dog in the cheek.  He was smart, he kept bumping the gates on the hog trailer and snatching at the ropes trying to open it like he was in a pen before and knew how to get out....he was also the first hog in our trailer since it was finished.

Thanks all, I am hoping this streak of bad luck is over cause all of this dog doctoring has me whipped Evil

He was a mean little bugger, he didnt quit jumping and running into the sliding gate the entire time he was in the trailer and his shield was all scarred/gouged up from fighting. He had half an ear on that side and was headed for the retention pond - we thought he had made it before we reallized they had got him in the field.  It was nice to see them actually work!

Are you coming down to hunt JDJP or just passing through?
