my dad and my granpa used to hunt javelinas all the time ,they would use hounds ,that would only bay and not catch ,he said that there would be times that the dogs would run them for 1 hour or sometimes 1:30 or sometimes they wouldnt even stop they would keep runnin tyll they would eventually just drop dead!!!heres a few pics from around 1978..

That's some good looking walker dogs. Definitely the 1970's era by the looks of those pics. I sent some mtn cur pups to Mexico for Javalina hunting. Those guys over there in the desert don't have hogs so they run Javalina with dogs.

Javelinas are not rodents......I have heard that alot but they arent even closely related to rodents. in fact their closest relative is PIGS and hippos. here is a good website

The first time my dogs ever seen them was in Laredo on the Vilareall 7 Ranch and it was bad
