I just picked up a dc 40 and charged it full and linked it up and it drops signal at 50-60 yards and gets it back then it happens again over and over. I took it to work updated the software and same thing. Was there somthing else I should have done , I thought they were ready to use it's brand new.

Make sure you updated the collar and astro. Make sure your antenna is ok on the astro. Leave the collar and astro ouside in the open, turned on for about ten minutes and see how that does.
Hope this helps

I tried the 10 min and at 30 yards it drops on and off still I am taking it back to try and trade it in. I did notice that when it does have signal if you click on this collar the battery is full, the GPS signal is full on the 220 and 40 but the communication only has one bar.

I took it back to Bass pro and exchanged it for another and it seems to be working fine it has all the bars full on the communication part so I guess that was a bad collar, I will find out in the morning when we hunt.
