So if deer season is open on public land (core ground) and you can run dogs on core ground any time you want, does it stands to reason that I have just as much right as they do to be there who is right? Should i not run my dogs because it is deer season? I pay my taxes and i have my hunting licence?

We are heading out there this evening to catch a couple....  Wink

Yea you can hunt NF land just like the deer hunters can hunt it. The Davey Crockett National Forest is practically at my back door and we make a few runs in and around the house. Yea man hunt it. I know we do. Its for the public.

Most WMAs do not allow hog hunting with dogs. However, some do have special drawings for dogs.
Only one WMA that I know of allows hog hunting with dogs, but its only for 2 weeks......

Well you boys have more nerve than I do, I'm just not going to turn my dogs loose around a bunch of deer hunters with a firearm. I do NOT want to be confronted with a person that shot my dog....there can be no good come from that.

according to several game wardens, bowie county and bell county wardens. dogs are considered legal means. the reason i was given from both wardens as to why dogs are not listed as leagl means is because hogs are considered an exotic. if anyone else has anymore info on why dogs are not listed as legal means, please chime in and let us know. on public land caution should be takin if hunting during the day, but as it is stated PUBLIC land is there for all to use including hogdoggers. i hunted during the daylight hrs just b/c i have all legal rights to the area too and where i hunt, it is a 1 way in and 1 way out. wont be hard to find out who did it and also block the road till the warden gets there.
