For those of ya'll that use the WBUSA vests, I am fixing to order a vest and was wondering if I need a cut collar to go with the devastator or if it is built in? Also what size would fit a 75 lb pit? I'm thinking a large but wanted to see how their sizes run. I like the looks of the guardian kevlar too but like the extra layer in the devastator. Thanks.

I use a large on my 60# pit and bulldog/pit. IMO there is enough collar built in, that along with my tracking collar and ID collar, I don't run a cut collar.

I don't know if they do it with the devastator but when I ordered my bay vest I measured my dog and it fit perfectly.

Levi, I have a large Devestator and just bought a medium Guardian. Both are awesome vest, but i do like the way the Guardian has the built in cut collar and chin flap. I usually do run a cut collar with the devestator, except for on my younger CD because like Chris said, along with a regular collar and / or garmin, it covers most of his neck. I usually just run the Garmin collar through the straps of the vest when its on the older ones. The cut collar just gives maybe another inch or two of protection on their neck. The Devestator has taken alot of hits from some good hogs, and the only cut that went all the way through was on the leg flap. Even being cut through, i think it saved Meathead alot of damage that would have been worse without the flaps. I can run either vest on all 3 dogs, but on the large they are almost on the last holes for Diesel and Meathead. Either choice you make, you are getting a good vest. Tom with the Guardian Cant find a good one of the Devestator, but here's one of Meathead with the cut collar on with it, I usually run the cut collar underneath the neck part of the vest.

I have two guardians and still run cut collars. I ran the guardian vests by themselves for a little bit, but started using cut collars again after the attached collar got several cuts through (right through the urethane plate) on one hog. If I had it to do over again, I would buy the devastastor and a good cut collar. It probably wouldn't be as bulky.... JMO

Some dogs have longer necks, and the extra cut collar provides a little extra reassurance

The Devastator does not have a built in collar. I run the Devastator with a cut collar because that is how I saw catch dogs run. I will be switching to the Guardian Kevlar or Titan. Not because the Devastator has anything wrong. I would like one thing to strap on and a chin flap. As far as size it is not weight but measurements. Call them, they are great people who will help you out.

I would order an XL for a 75lb dog. I own 2 devastators and run cut collars under them. I loosely run on of the straps through the D-ring of the cut collar to avoid separation of the collar and the vest. Probably wouldn't separate anyways because the devastator goes pretty far up the neck, but better safe than sorry.

hes right about the long neck dogs I have both and they both just use the regular 2 inch collar under the devistator, but for only 23 dollars you can get the level 5 protection and it will work too,all you gotta do is not tighten the top 2 straps too much and it will fit fine,, itd be bulky with the tracker but not restricting my cd's are less than 50lbs, so on a big dog i think he is gonna come into more contact than a lil cd, so id get it while you already placin an order, save on shippin and get extra protection

Thanks for the input guys, I ordered the devastator and will run a collar as well I'm sure on my dane/pit cd as he has a long neck. He hasn't been cut badly yet but I want to be ready for the day he gets on a bad one. So far he hasn't been wearing a vest because nothing that I have will fit him. I'll feel a lot better when I turn him loose knowing that he has the best protection that I can get him. My pit cd is a big bodied dog, so I'm hoping to be able to use it on both of them until I save up enough to get another one. He is recovering from losing a canine tooth so he'll be out for a few more weeks anyway.
