She's got to much Catahoula in her....lol    Just kidding guys.  I bet I got two or three twisted up with that one Wink

The truth is at that age alot of hounds and curs are still hanging around! She is still young and like Blake said just keep taking her huntin. Catch a few hogs tie the other dogs back and let her run them again, if she likes a hog that much she will probably be OK.

Humans can be a dog’s worst friend, sometimes we expect too much of them way to early. I have found through the years that a dog that likes you will work hard to please you; I have had many good dogs that I raised as pets in fact all my dogs are my hunting partners not just hunting tools!!

im just going to put this out there....i dont think giving your puppy/dog attention and handled it a lot or all the time makes a dog not turn out. i think it has a lot to do with if the dog has hunt in it and the age of the dog. i understand that some dogs stick around when you pet them but as they age and realize that when there loaded up in the dog box it is "game time" and understand that its time to hunt, there really isnt any problem. i WOULDNT love on them too much while your out in the woods(only after they find a pig) i honestly think that a dog that is super loyal or really loved will work harder to make his owner proud. The only reason i say this is because i give all my dogs a lot of attention at home as pups and adult dogs(play with them and pat them up all the time). My best dog is a black mouth that was skiddish as hell as a pup(piss all over him self) and rolled on the ground scared as hell as a puppy.  i decided right them that i needed to give this dog a hell of a lot of attention...well its been 2- 3 yrs later and the dog runs around the house, jumps up and gives hugs, plays with my son , will not let anyone out of there truck with out some one at the house and is spoiled rotten. as soon as you drop the tail gait he is a different dog. he gets out and hunts and it almost seems as if he is trying to impress us. i am tylers wife and maybe females think differently but from what ive seen if the have the hunt in them they are going to make a dog....sometimes it just takes some dogs a little longer(depending on how many hogs hes been on in the woods) to realize what yall are doing and what his job is. just my opinion....hope it helps, mrs k bar
