ok so i got massacre ripped up for the first time 2 and a half weeks ago .
ever since then ive taken her out twice and she just dont want to hunt .
the other day i took her out and all she did was lay on the back of the ute and didnt even bother lookin for a hog .
and today a hog ran right out in front of the ute literally 5 feet in front of the ute she wasnt chained up she seen the hog i told her to get it and she jumped off ran in a lil bit then come back .
she has never missed a hog when its literally right at the door so i put her back on drove off ,
2 minutes later the same hog run out again and ran on a fenceline i jump out run as hard as i can to get her going i almost run this pig down myself but i got tired and slowed down .
i got 15 metres away from this hog runnin it down and massacre was right beside me i was tellin her go go . i knew she had the pace and the nose to smell a pig from miles and catch it within two minutes so when she just looked at this hog and ran beside me hopeing i would catch it i just pulled up spun around and walked to the ute , but wait here is what made me really mad she decides after i spin around to finally giv e chase i just left her i knew she wouldnt get it she dont have the heart of a pig dog .
im dissapointed i thought she would end up a really good hog even better then lil roly who alot of you know is one hell of a hog dog for such a tiny dog . but no massacre gets ripped up once and loses all her heart im shattered i now dont have a hunting dog untill slasha gets older and im gunna have to run her without no experienced dog so its gunna be hard , lil roly was taught without no other dog teachin him and it was hard but if i could do it with him i can do it with slasha .
so yea i actually took lil roly for a run today and no more sore leg in gunna run him for a month and see how it goes if his leg is ok ill take him hunting again but if not no hunting for me for a long time . unless massacre turns her attitude around then i might be able to hunt but yea i dont see that happening . anyway guys happy hunting and show me some good hogs fellas

I wouldn't be too quick to count your dog out. I don't know how badly she got cut, but it could be that she's still recovering and may still be sore or there may be some damage that you don't know of. Give her awhile more to heal and start her back slow......if she has the heart it'll come back out, may just take awhile since she's young.....good luck.

I have seen dogs take bad bad cuttings and not hit a lick again till six months later . I would not be to quick to judge her . I have seen it before and when they come out of it they are a better dog than before because the have learned a big time lesson .
