Jeff, I know the single shots suck. Shot a 454 a few years ago. Don't know much about the lever guns. You can find a Marlin for the same price. Got a 336 in 35 REM a few months ago for 325 shipped to me off guns America. Hits hogs hard. Have killed 5 hogs and one little cull buck with it thus far. I like it.

My Grandson got a Rossi youth 243 single shot and it was supposed to be bore sighted. We tried sighting in at 100 yards and it didn't hit on the target. We moved in to 25 yards and it was off almost 1 foot so that would of made it to be off around 4 ft. at 100 yds. We zeroed in and moved back to 100 yds and it came close to the bullseye and then it started shooting wild. One shell miss fired and we finally just gave up. I will check all the bolts on the mounts and scope rings again and possibly replace the scope so hope that is our problem. We were using a nice gun vise so I know it was the gun.
The gun looks nice and it is a perfect fit for my 10 yr old grandson so hope it will work out. I will post the results.

I have been using lever guns all my life and love em. I still own 3. One is a Rossi .357 mag. Its a sweet little shooter but its also finicky on what it likes to eat. I have good results with the 158 grn wad cutters. They cycle real nice through the rifle and will take care of business with the hogs and yots. Its just a nice little go to gun to keep in the truck or on the saddle with you.

for the most part they may not be tack drivers. i have a couple, but one in peticular is 7.62X39 and has always been good at 100. has killed plenty of deer with it. this is the one my daughter shoots and the ammo is cheap.

I got a Survival model .308 for my boys to shoot when they were younger put a good bushnell 3-9x44 on it and have had it for 7 yrs I like it better than my boys do. Its a tack driver at 150-200 yrd. Ive found that most any gun shoots better with a certain type of ammo,,Winchester supreme is most accurate in this gun,But my savage 30.06 is best with Hornady...then my .243 is best with the cheap remington ammo.

The rossi levers look to be nice guns. Curr dog has one in a .45lc and says he can consistantly hit a pie plate at 75 yds.

i am an armorer and a firearms instructor...stay away from Rossi.....as the old saying goes "you get what you pay for".....they are cheaply made with bad materials. you can get an H and R or Mossberg for around the same price and have three times the gun.

Been real pleased with my .357 Rossi M92 lever gun. As a matter of fact, I sold both a Winchester lever and a Marlin lever after buying and shooting this gun.
I also bought a little Rossi youth combo single shot in .243, Shot it a few times at the range, and it kicked so hard I never let my daughter shoot it.
I felt like the single shot was a cheaply made rifle. The lever gun is a different story IMHO.

Rossi makes great lever actions. I have a 45 LC. It isnt real loud, doesnt kick, its light, cycles rounds with no problems, and is a good looking gun. It is also as accurate as i can make it.

I have a .243 single shot couldnt even put it on paper at a 100yds. I assumed it was the scope, so thanks for saving me the money on a new scope. I gotta good spot for that gun right in the creek. Gonna stick the ol' trusty Browning A-Bolts, I really like those guns.

maybe? some of my folks got around ....stay away from rossi..... you can get an H and R or Mossberg for around the same price and have three times the gun.
maybe so, but they dont make a cool lever gun. i've heard the same about Henry's, but love mine Rossi makes great lever actions. I have a 45 LC. It isnt real loud, doesnt kick, its light, cycles rounds with no problems, and is a good looking gun. It is also as accurate as i can make it.
freind of mine just bought one of those. he says the exact same thing. and he said right outta the box he had no trouble hittin a pie pan at 100 yrds with iron sights
