I lost about a 2 day old steel 2-door dog box out of the back of my Ranger somewhere on Hwy 77 between Cameron and Lexington.  I re-traced my steps, and it appears someone very near behind me picked it up.

If anyone knows about the box, or where it might be I would appreciate it's return.  It's custom made to fit, and wouldn't work in a truck because it won't sit on a flat surface.

Bryant,  I am sorry about the loss of your box.  But I must say I thought the same thing as Ben.  Hope you find it though.

If you guys knew my luck, you would fully understand.

I had been wanting to build a box since I bought my Ranger a few months ago but hadn't seen or envisioned exactly what I wanted until a week or so ago.  I finally got it figured out in my head and went to work on Sunday morning.  Worked almost nonstop, and had just over 18 hours of work involved time it was all complete.

I left to go hunt on Wednesday morning, and the thought that a 150lb box would blow out was last on my mind.  Only thing I can figure is that the platform built on the top for bulldogs to stand caught the wind and it flipped out over my Rangers tailgate.

When I looked in the mirror and realized it was gone, my first reaction was immediate horror as I could imagine that box flying out and on top of someones vehicle.  I was praying as I drove back, that I wasn't going to come up on a wreck.  Fortunately, there was no accident but UNFORTUNATELY my box (and cooler that was strapped to the top) was nowhere to be found.

I sure hope you find it.

I did see the Boar Ninja hauling ranger dog boxes around recently.  I'm not sure if he is stealing them or what, but he had a trailer full.  It might be a good idea to investigate him.  Chance was seen with him too.  Those would be the 2 I would start questioning first.   Evil

Nope...no pics.  Only in my head.  Suppose after I finish pouting, I'll start again and you all can see it then.  Shouldn't take as long this time, as I know exactly how everything should go together.

Even after loosing the box, I still felt a bit fortunate because everything else made it home okay.  On a TYPICAL hunt, I loose something AND tear something up... Sad

You gotta go with the lock-n-ride system  Afro  No I hate to hear it, I read this a few days ago and thought about how mad I would be and scared after realizing it wasn't with me any longer!

Bryant,

Thanks..  I thought it might have been located a while back when I started receiving strange phone calls from a young adolescent claiming to be a "Wild Boar Hunter".  Come to find out, Savoy had given my phone number to Bigl....so no luck with the phone.

You gotta go with the lock-n-ride system

The box was built to utilize the locks, and they were ordered.  My intention with the locks was to prevemt the slight side-to-side movement which might catch a dogs toe....NEVER would I have thought they would be needed to hold it in place!!  Lesson learned.

Just food for thought but I used 3/4" black pipe 14-3/4" long with washers and caps on both ends.  Holds my box very well and if it comes off so is the bed of the ranger.

Strange how that works out, I also got a call from the lad wanting to buy a boxer named Bocephus or Mclovin... I pointed him in the right direction of Hickory Flat  Evil
