Ive always been curious as to how much the local hoghunter contributes to the local and state economy figured this might be a good topic and could maybe be a valuable resource for us against the tree huggers and bunny worshippers if there is enough responses.

its a lot, at one point my wife asked me if it was even worth having the dogs, we added it up, then we added up the damage that is done by hogs and it was equal when it came to hogs, then I got to add the lion hunting and damage they do and I won this arguement.

2,000 a year in dog food right now. Bought 5 collars and a vest this year that was another 155 there. 3 leads run me 21. garmin with 3 collars was 800 and bout to add 2 more collars there's another 300. wormer and shots and vets i'm sure around another 2000 just this year. wow this is scary to think about it. Now I may go in to a depressed mood unless I get another hog soon. lol

My wife would shoot me dead and skin me like the hogs I hunt if we ever put a figure to it. I currently have sixteen hog dogs on the yard, and we only own three acres so you can see the kennel is way too close to the house!! I won’t dare to put a figure on my expenses. This way maybe I’L live to hunt again!! HUNT’UM UP!!!!

I spent well over $5,000 this pas year, and thats just what i can think of off the top of my head and ot counting gas, and i have to travel alot to get to hog hunt, and thats not countingf all the money i lost by taking off work. it would be terrifying to really know the exact amount.

Way to much but if I didn't spend it on hunting it would be something else. Probably my wife at wal mart. Gotta love it.

We spend $2500 a year in feed alone. The next biggest expense is probably fuel for the truck and ATV's. But compared to team roping, which is what we used to do alot of. Hogdogging is very inexpensive and something that the qhole family can participate in. All in all we probably spend around 3 or 4 thousand a year. WORTH EVERY RED CENT!

There is no telling what it cost me this year. New four wheeler. Toyota pickup.(both well worth it Bc I'm tired of walking). Plus everything that everyone else has mentioned. But every penny I have spent on this sport is more than worth it when my dogs go out and find a hog and catch it. To me there is no greater reward then watching my dogs do what they love.

well thats tough cause everything i have is geared for hunting, trucks ,trailers, horse's ,tack, atv's, garmin, vests, vet bills and i dont even want to think about dog food. every time i buy a new pair of boots i consider hog huning in them. so this could go on and on.

Well just as a starter I buy $315.00 of dog feed a month, thats over 3 thousand a year before you add in Ivomec, safeguard, Flea control, rabies, Water & electricity for the kennels. Like Craigs said, trucks, trailers, tires, fuel, boots, dog boxes, Fuel, Fuel, Fuel Cut gear, leashes, collars, Id Tags, Tracking systems, ATV, Vet bills, Kennels, concrete, roofing, fencing. Flash lights, batteries, and much much more
Have you bought the dogs yet?
Internet services so I can be on ETHD everyday, and be a real internet hog hunter!
