Me, Lawrence, Chance, Rowdy and a couple of Lawrence's buddies turned out this morning on the river and had a pretty good hunt.  The conditions were DRY, not the damp conditions we were expectiing at all, there was no water anywhere but the river.  We hunted a few hours and Mater came bayed so we turned a few of Chance's pups to her and got Bull and headed that way.  Turned out to be a nice toothy boar hog about 160-170lbs.  Hunted for a good while longer without hitting anything and then Mater came bayed again and we made our way to her and turned Cricket and KC out to her and they about 80 yards past her and I hear Cricket open and then take off chasing something down river.  Turn a few more curs out and we catch Mater's hog about a 80lbs boar and head to the Cricket and KC's hog that few more dogs now have stretched out, about 105lbs boar.  It felt good to catch a hog and get the dogs a little exercise.

Rowdy beat all of us to this hog and had it legged in the river with the cur dogs on it haha

Good hunt. Dang Rowdy won't give anyone else a fair shot at legging a hog. Crystal has made him into a monster.  I've seen ball hogs, but when hunting with Rowdy, hog hog comes to mind.    Wink

Haha yeah I could have done without that long walk across the river to get her but I guess she felt bad and tried to make up for it Smiley

Thanks for the invite!! Had a blast and meet some more good people! Rowdy is going to be a pretty good hand! He wanted to leg the big boar but the catch dog did not have a good enough holt for me to let him go! He belled right in that river and got the medium boar!
The dogs hunted good!! On some days they can make a man proud but some days they make me proud I don't hunt with a gun!LOL
Thanks again for the Invite!
Rowdy said thanks also!

That is a good way to start the week off.  Chance you and crystal  have raised some good kids,  I know they can catch armadillo and now I see they can leg a hog.  and I have seen that they can take care of a hurt dog to.

Deer season had me shut down and I can't hunt much in the summer so from now till May or June I plan on hunting quite a bit. I'm not as mad at them as I once was.  I am a lot more worried about a quality hunt these days, good weather, daylight, etc.
