Hi, I am getting a female puppy next week. Her dad is a 90lbs performance AB, her mother is a 65lbs Blackmouth/Catahoula cross. She is expected to grow to be around 75lbs and about 23 inches at the shoulder. In your opinions, is this a good cross? Do you think she will be more inclined to catch or bay?

X2, dont know whether or not its gonna be a good hunting dog or a world champion yard dog.

I know, I'll have to wait a while until she grows a little. Has anyone here ever had this cross, or knows of someone that had dogs of this cross? Thanks.

Here is Lana she's the exact same cross that your getting ,,,,from hunting parents 12 week in this pic,, she 6 months now and my wife has claimed her. So she lives in the house now and prolly never see the woods. But I'm gonna cross her back to my BMC male and get me a whole litter to work with next fall.

OMG, she looks identical as my little 8 weeks old!! Same markings, same black muzzle, etc.!! Thank you for sharing. I need to see how I can post pictures of my little one. Can you tell me more about Lana. She looks like she's got the body of a runner! How is her temperament? Her drive, ect...? As I mentioned, my puppy's mom is Blackmouth (father side)/Catahoula (mother side). Was Lana's grandma also the Cathoula, and granddad the Blackmouth? How much does she weight in this picture? Thanks

I haven't wieghed her in a few months. I would say about 55# she's all legs. But I haven't worked her much (Really my wife has claimed her) she sleeps with us 3-4 nites a week!! Only dog I've ever seen that sleeps from 9:30pm to 6:00am and never moves... Her mom is reg. Ladner BMC , dad AB.  I started her in a pen at 4 month, she went right to it baying and trying to catch with my older dogs. I'll prolly never hunt her but I'm hoping for some good pups from her.

I see. So she doesn't have Catahoula in her, does she? My puppy's mom is Catahoula/BMC. They still look the same... Grin

My sister made a BMC a house dog. After replacing three or four doors she decided it really did want to hunt and there was nothing she could do about it.
