Written by Bump:
I recently picked up a large ranch north of Lampasas county and been waiting for regular deer season to end. We were rained out on monday but rescheduled for tuesday.

We had hoped for clear 65 degree weather but instead got a cold, foggy and somehow winding suprise....never had wind and fog but that was the case.

We headed north to Evant to do a little exploring on the new place and hope to get in pigs. The ranch is really nice and set up perfect for driving. We decided to use the strong wind to our favor and let the dogs work from the ranger as we drove draws and deer feeders.

It took us a few hours of exploring but finally found some hogs.
James' Sage gyp, me and Jack, my catch dog

We got into a good draw with lots of cover and water and sent the dogs....James' dog Ginger worked a little bit before his two curs and my jagd, Luke, were bayed. We drive around closer and hear that Sage has a small group bayed and Luke has a hog caught about 100 yards up the hill. James gets in and gets some good video before Luke finishes off his catch and shows up to the small group.

My camera man forgot his radio and our communication was not good...then i couldnt get the catch dogs released together but we made out with no issues and a double.
Bay video:

James with the double catch:

I held Buster (jagd) back cause he is a little rough with Luke and extremely long range. I cut him into the catch then got him to get ahead after everything was tied. He rolled out and bayed at 800 yards on a small boar.

Nice hunt guys. It's nice when you can get some on video too. Looks like the new property is pretty nice, Rex.

Its real nice. The 4800 acres we hunted has 19 feeders, no deer hunters, lots of water (all stock tanks) heavy cover in the draws, open fields and bottoms and plenty of roads to drive to the bay.

and that is  1/3 of the ranch  Grin

Longshot

I love your buggy in first photo!  Nice rack set ups.  I have something similar on my Big Red UTV.  Just broke a front axle on it running it hard in all-wheel traction lock mode.  I did not think the Big Red had enough gutz to break and axle, but it did!  LOL!

New hunting grounds must be nice.  We have nothing close to that around here.
