I have 100 foot of fire hose i was wanting to make some cut collars out of but not sure how to do it. if anyone has some pics of some they have made post them if u dont mind. I was also thinkin about puting a layer in my cut vest. has anyone done this?

I did it a few years ago I used bailing wire to sew the ends up just make sure to put the cut ends outward lol

Nice. No body has ever put it in a vest? Is that 5 in and 2 1/2 inch hose grittydog? The hose I have is the ruber with the braded nylon in the middle.

There's an Austrailian company that makes them out of fire hose, you can find in the links on boardogs. Look at the pictures of his fire hose bibs and collars and get some ideas to make your own. I made four cut collars out a flat bed semi trailer tie down strap. Found it on the road, took it to an upholstery shop with collars and the guy charged me $5 per collar to sew them.

It is 2'' and 4'' hose. I took out the inner part, it was to stiff. In the picture the end was not glued. It is easier to just buy them and probably cost the same.

I used to make my cut vest out of fire hose and cordura, they worked great! I made my own cut collars like that to.

Hi,
I made a cut vest from fire hose at least 20 years ago. I put 2 strips in girth area and 1 across the chest and straps across the back much like the modern vest. I used nylon straps and rivets. They worked well, I have not had many bulldogs but I tried to take care of them. Sorry I have no pics at all.... I have a hard time beating the prices on store bought cut vest and bay vest. But with that being said fire hose and rivets are cheap, lol....

What's a common length on a cut collar we sell fire hose at my.job and have a ton of scrap pieces thinkin of making a few for my self.....
