This hog was the only one that stuck around after the whole drove broke. Cut the cd down real bad. All Hog hunters should have to experience a SC cut down in their hunting careers  http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb471/gumswamphogdogs/1-17-11bighogincutdown001.jpg

Nice pig.  Sounds like he knew how to use the little tooth he has.  Hope your dog gets better.

Sorry, I was just goin off of what I could see in the pic.  Look to be about an inch and a half or so.   It always seems to be the smaller athletic pigs with teeth about that size that get the better of the dogs than the big ol boars with daggers stickin out.    Patrick

I thought the same thing after the hog went down. How could he do all that damage with them little teeth. But after looking further the cutter on the one side was freshly broke. The cd was ripped from head to toe. His vest looked like it had been through a cuber.I only had one cd with me on this hunt. Thats what I usually carry when I'm by myself. After turning loose cross and cheetah my two strike dogs they split up. Lost communication with cheetah. stayed with cross he was  bayed about 650 yds out. Killed a nice 200 + boar. loaded cross and cd up headed towards were I lost comm. with cheetah. About a mile away he was bayed up in a 50 acre cutdown. nothing unusual about what was going on. Sent cd in. waited a minute to hear catch instead I heard my cd BAYING never has happen before. started crawling in got about 75 yds away there were more hogs bayed up in that cutdown than you could shake a stick at. Crawled a little closer the drove broke cd started catching that boar and got his butt cut because it just took so long to get to him. Bad situation.

Dang all it takes is any tusk seems  tooth to do damage when the luck is not with you, sorry about you hogdog, hope he heals up quick, do you have to bring em in to a heated recovery kennel because of the weather, it was 32 this mornign here in south texas, thats like a big deal for us, how cold is it there where u at this weekend??  When catchdogs like that start baying its always bad news.  Takes a dead game gritty dog to stand that and keep going for sure!!!
