Alan,
Im sure it would sound like this: SKUNKS GONE CRAZY! These skunkdoggers are eradicating skunks for your protection. They are ruthless little beasts out to terrorize you and your families!!! LOL  laugh Spraying unsuspecting citizens, scaring little children and hissing at our elderly! THEY MUST BE STOPPED!

...After re-reading that.....i may apply for a job with the Discovery channel as a narrator.  Cool

LMAO! Don't forget keeping people hostage in their own homes!!!

Actually, a skunk would have a better chance of that with me even over the biggest baddest boar! Lol

They are huge, rabid, foul smelling beasts with fiery tempers and huge teeth waiting to (s)prey unsuspecting people. Infants and elderly people are in extreme danger.

I don't know what we would do. Cward has taken to rodent dogging. Let's keep that option open.

i just read the blog and it seems as the show goes on there are more and more negative comments made. The "left" just needs to change the freaken channel if they dont like it. I hate a bunch of do gooders telling anyone what they should or should not do. I just cant unerstand the thought process behind thinking you can impose your will on others.  going to get off my soap box now!

Peachcreek, you can bet the production company had to realize that this would inflame people. I mean, how could it not?

It's not that the left should change the channel, its that the public doesn't want to know the details of the removal. Like doggie said, this could have been kept cleaner. That's where all those attorneys I was talking about last week come in. Thinking things through responsibly and not just trying to get on tv means paying for entertainment attorneys to retain final edit rights. We should have learned this lesson before, but tv cameras are not out to be your friend and portray your sport in a positive light no matter what they say. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that sensationalism sells, and chances are it will not be kind.
My own opinion for what its worth is just make it stop, get it off the air. I bet the actors involved are also feeling the sting of the public eye. They can't be happy that they are being portrayed like this. I'm watching it right now, and I'm just shaking my head and really mad.
Cheers

Is this show a series or just a one show thing?

L3 Outdoors, The 3 fellas in Florida, and the Biologist have my respect for getting in front of the camera and leaving themselves open for criticisim and at the mercy of the editing department.  Also, either way you look at it, they are shedding light on a problem that needs serious attention to the public, but it isnt the way I would do it.

If it is a series I hope that things will get better for them.

"Riddick is my baby, he gaurds my backdoor everynight"  WTF?

For those hogs that like to come up in the yard like in florida ya know? gah LOL had to throw that in.

My catch dog sleeps at me feet every night so I can't say much on that end lol. She's for when the hogs start to come in the house.

Thats what reality tv is all about,  to see who can stir up the most   # 2,  no matter who gets hurt, or what the out come, cause at the end of the day. The one that started it all are just sitting back and watrching it all unfold.

What would really make this situation worse, is when they come back thru and ask again,  who wants to be on hog wild, then jim bob,  says i will, cause i know how to do it better,  then they put #1  outfit on the same show as #2 outfit  then  they get into fight over which way is better blah, blah. blah,

It wouldnt suprise me narry bit that this is their very intent.  It wouldnt have took much to dig up the L3 controversy that was already going on, then throw a little gas on the fire.

I didnt see the show tonight, and only parts of the first one, but I did think that they were showing way too much on the big screen, with the whole, little lady with BIG knife stabbing a wild boar, that almost ate her husband alive!  lol  But Thats what sells these days.
Its all about the$$$

I just read the other threads and realized that this is a series and I remember telling this guy(Josh) that hunting "ONE OUT"  Ultimately will lead to disaster, that is if you have a dog that will use its nose and follow a hog, then catch it.  Lets pray that it doesnt go that way and make it to TV because then we would look PRETTY BAD!

I will say this much, If I turned out in that Neighborhood even the camera men would be dialing 911 because of all the Squealin and Killing going on!!! Grin

The dane is a joke... he obviously has gotten used to them finding the hogs with the light and him just running em down and catching em, he doesn't use his nose from what i've seen, i most certianly would be feeding him the 50 lbs of dog food he probably eats a week... JMO

The show is a joke, they need to come to east texas and see how some old timers do it
Hold the light on'em. Shake the light right there so he will know where the hog went through the fence at. Holy cow is this crap for real! To start with I'm not going to look for the pigs before I turn loose on them, but if I did and they got behind that hog and stopped when he went through the barbwire he would be eating supper some where else that night. But wait Josh said he didn't go that way because the dog knew they could not hunt over there. 2nd and last show Got my belly full of it.

I think Riddick must be short for Riddickulous.

That's how I feel about this whole "television series".

If your going to go on national television proclaiming to be "professionals", you should at least act like you've done it before.  The wife's reaction to her baby's "injury" just about did me in.

OK. i like to shine a positive "light" on everything said and done about my favorite hobby so hear goes.  I think Riddick did a good job holding a good size pig for a good amount of time.  that's my positive light.  As for the show i put a negative light on the footage used by DC.  I was worried about this from day one and i am sure there was plenty of good things to show other then what was shown for all three companies.  I like Josh and the other guys seem like good hearted people, but i would say that last night show was not good for anybody.  Riddick is better then the show made him out to be, but whats done is done.  Here is my lesson for the day.  I try not to say anything good about my dogs.  We catch a lot of pigs.  Caught 5 this weekend in 2 hours of hunting, but if there is one thing i have learned, your dogs can always make a liar out of you no matter how good they are, and from what i can tell T.V. can make things look not so good as well.  I hope for all of the companies envolved that it gets better.  And for all of you that only have negative things to say i hope your dogs never disappoint you when you really don't want them too.  Its a game and we don't always win or there woudn't be pigs around.  I can say that my dogs would have never stopped at that fence but that's probably why i can't hunt there.
