Not long ago I made a post on here about a man calling the game Warden and making a big issue out of us going and getting our dogs off his land even when his friend that was out there working for him said o go ahead and get your dogs no problem I will even go with you then as it went the land owner walked up being a Azz and long story short game Warden came we got a ticket for trespassing even tho the land owner was at one time a hog hunter himself and one of the biggest outlaws in this country .

Anyway a farmer that lives over by him called me and said Am looking at at least 20 big hogs right now smallest in the group maybe 200 lbs they are eating my wheat Field alive I cant get them out and said that traps are no go out there the hogs done got wise to them you can shoot one are two but ten more come back the next day.  He said will you come help me .  I said well you know about what happened out there before he said well I will go talk to the man and get permission and I said well I don't know I will have to have it in writing with my name on it stating that am allowed to hunt and get my dogs from his land with his signature on it and then still I don't know if I will do it .

These people are having pure hex out there with the hogs it really isnt just this one man .

This man is a complete horses behind and I don't trust him as far as I can throw him the man that called the game Warden last time so anyway whats yawls thoughts on this ?

I just don't think am going to go cause if he does something stupid then I will go to jail and it wont be from trespassing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well,

If the man is mentally stable I would be alright with the signature permission note especially if you have a witness. If not stable I wouldn't do it.

How many acres does the farmer have? Only bring dogs that can be called off. I know some people use shock collars to get the dogs to come back. Without written permission I would not step one foot on his land.

i would try going and talking to the man in question myself and get it in writing with witness.have the contract ready to sign,  if he still being a turd then i wouldnt take a chance on it.  Undecided

the other land owners are going to have to make him come around.

All good advise for sure.

I have called the GW he is suppose to call me back let me know what he thinks about the deal .  Yeah I tell ya all those farmers are going to have to get this man to come around are they are all gonna be in bad shape come crop time.  I dont know of anybody that will step foot around there without gettng this problem solved first.

I have some short range dogs I could put on that place but the problem is once they are on a big boar and cant get him stopped aint no calling them off .  I just could not shock my dog off a hog ,  even tho I had one trained one time when he heard the beep on the collar he was coming back no matter what but he is long been passed away aint got any more trained to that.

Get the other land owners to go with u to his house talk to him personally.  Bet with them there he will sign the contract and u would be set or heck invite him to go lol might come that yall would be good friends.  Lol am joking to an extent but an invite sometimes even makes the worse hard number 2 come around.  Just an idea

Purebreed, nice post. I fully agree, get the neighbors to witness his bad attitude or signing permission.
Either way, just getting the neighbors involved will be good in the long run.

if its that many big hogs i would just go hunt that place at night time, i dont know how it is in texas but here theres not that many people out at 1 in the morning, im not saying go hunt his land but if a dog did go over there just walk to them and get them, i think in alabama the dogs owner can park at the property line and walk to get his dog by his self

Some good advice here for sure.

Personally I think you should hunt the place after taking all the proper steps to do it right and legal for two reasons. 1st to help out the land owner. Secondly, to spite the guy! He is trying to bully you and that has never set right with me.
Stay just in all your dealings and hunting and he will either come around or make himself look like a bigger tool than what he already does to the law and his neighbors.

Good luck.

That's still tresspassing, it's just tresspassing at night.  Texas doesn't have a retrieval law like that.  With one ticket already it's just begging for trouble and really not helping the situation.  It will just guarantee that he doesn't get the permission he needs.  Ever hear the joke about the two bulls?

Is there a Deputy that likes to hog hunt or just watch? I would hunt during the day only. So he sees me and so does everyone else. If the dogs go over call the law to help you get them back. I would call the Game warden that wrote you the ticket myself.

Thats the way a court of law will see it in Texas aslo..........as long as the employee keeps his story right. The problem with employees in this situation is their loyalty to their employer. Not trying to complicate things here, just speaking from experience with friends in similar situation.
