Went and made a hunt on some of the nice hill country land saturday morning with a couple buddies of mine. The hunt started out kinda slow. Not much activity or signs or anything. The dogs were all staying close,   Then all the sudden. My dogs started to work the ground around a creek and through a valley. before long they were .78 on the gps the .89 then no signal. so i pulled the map up and found out they had past the north end of the fence line and over a county road. i hauled butt to the fence line to see if i could pick them up and i did they were 800 yards in the other side of the road it was no big deal cause we could hunt for that rancher also. i waited about 5 minutes or so and and they were at elm creek. They got to that and must have lost cent or just went out of there range so they decided to turn around. When they got back to me i loaded them all up on the mule and headed headed back to the far side. We got back up ther and casted out litghning and weda within minutes they were 600 yards and bayed down solid. we cut the bulldogs and headed that way. We found this big fat sow there caught. it was a fun hunt with some great guy

It is west of cameron. But to me its hill country. Do you no where grass hopper jill is and all them hills along the elm creek? if you do you will no why i call it hill country. Shoot i live in port lavaca and its flatter than my kitchen table here. I guess that why i call it that. But im from cameron.

Ya diamond G it was a long haul back. OLE donald whitley does not beleive in wasting anything. So we stuffed them with lots of ice. We got another nice one not posted in the pic with his dogs the night before. Did you get the lep dog? He was my old dog i gave him or really traded him to donald. He is a good dog just a little fat right now. He has a strange bark to him man. When he would bay my dogs would run the opposite way.

Yea, I knew it was Donald's place from the pic.  He got me into hunting when I was just a kid.  Your ol Lep dog has a houndish bay and yes he is definately fat, but he stays busy the entire hunt.  I took him out Sunday night and the dogs jumped some runners and split into four areas.  Didn't catch any but I lost com with him at .81.  Went again Monday night and we got on a mess of em again.  Donald's dog Cash and a few our other dogs had a sounder bayed.  Lep was bayed about 200 yds away and came back when we let the catch dogs go on the sounder.  We had three dogs cut and two poke holes in Lep.  That was the first sounder I've ever seen.  Awsome sound.  I am going to post it later when I have more time to get pics on my computer.   Patrick

Sounds good to me.  When Donald speaks good about a person, it says alot.  I have known him for about 20 years now and you dont hear him brag on people much.  When he says you're a good ol boy he means it, but dont tell him I said that.  I told him we were gonna try to find a few places to run either Sat or Sun.  Maybe we can get together.
