i have tejas vest too... the good hing about them is theat you can take your dog in there and let them measure him and they can make it while you are in there.

We are selling a lot of the medium Boar Bibs to guys with gritty bay dogs that put some miles under their feet each hunt.....I would really need to know more of how you define "agressive bay dog" to determine whether a bib will give enough protection of if a vest is necessary.....We can make a DEVASTATOR short to where it ends 3-4" behind the leg holes and it would weigh less than a pound and still give all areas covered kevlar protection......

depending on how rough the hog is you can get there with a catch dog but the hog will sometimes be caught or the dogs will be cut up from trying to catch

They way the GUARDIAN is put together allows for natural range of motion. We are selling these vests like hot cakes and have had great response from our customers thus-far.

Hogslayer, I would go with the Guardian for a walk in pit. It has much more protection if he ever grabs the nose, and it will help alot with brusing. The Devastator is very thin and will not keep your dog from getting brused if he takes alot of shots. Both are really cut resistant and good vests. JMO This is a video of the Devastator in action. Never had one single cut through on any of my Devastator's. The outside will cut but the Kevlar stays in tack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzsvgMcUxiU

Those jaw plates in the Guardian will save you alot of cuts on a dog like that. If he cuts the ligaments in his jaw he isn't going to be a very good catch dog after that. You can stop all cuts but it will help.

While we're on the subject... I've also wondered about these vests with the cut collar built in... (Devistator)
They have to restrict motion? Are yall also running a cut collar with that vest? I like the looks of the Devastator(the Kevlar, light one I think). That will be my next vest purchase.

I run a cut collar under the vest and put the top stap of the vest through the D ring to keep the collar and vest from getting any gaps in them a dog could get cut through. The Guardian does not need a cut collar at all. It is made like a Ozzie breast plate and everything is one solid piece. If your dog has a short neck you dont need a collar on the Devastator. All mine have long necks so I run a cut collar.
