For all that have a pup of mine, I wanted to post a video of your pups mom on a Wild Hog hunt. There was some question a couple of weeks ago as to whther she was a CD? I just want to clear it up....She is a PET, sleeps at the foot of the bed every night and a great babysetter for our grandkids. Will she catch? Is she Hard enough? you be your own judge. I dont think you will see any regripping either. I didnt want you guys to see a picture of her, I wanted you to see her in action. I know she may not be bread a well as some of our AB specialist dogs on these boards. The only claim I am making is that she is a great family dog, she came from hog dogs, she catches HARD and she has raised two litters of pups who's owners have been very pleased with. The video that was posted last week was a video that I made and posted and it was her the first two mins. she had ever seen a hog. What you will see in this video is what she did just mins after that video was made and has been doing ever since. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did makin it for you. Oh yea she was caught on the ear the entire time so she beat at least one catch dog to the bay. (3 CD's)

My son cut the video short, Layla was locked on long after the hog was dead, all dogs were caught and put on the lead. I left her on the hog to see how long she would stay. We got tired of waiting for her to come off so we broke her loose and led her out.

Most people dont care, there are just a few that want to poke and prod. Im sure they will get thier diggs in on this thread too but its really allrite. Some people need it to make thier day go better. I will try to make a video of just her in the next couple of weeks on a big hog with no other help. (If She Can Do It)

3 catchdogs,a gang bang of cur dogs and a med size hog.....she is the best I ever seen.....put me on the list for a pup next tine you breed her ....I need some better dogs For being a house dog. She did do good. I am not sure why all of the sarcasm? She is my baby and she always wants to go but I continually say "No" for fear she may get hurt. A veterinarian told me if I really care about my dog I shouldn't let her go hog hunting. He see's hog dogs come into his office, etc. So, I would never let her go. However, now that her pups are out of our house/yard, with the promise of her being all vested up, I let my hubby take her. Seeing that this is only the 2nd time she has been out around hogs in a hunting environment, she fell right in, locked on the front end of the hog and did great. I probably won't let her go all the time, but I shouldn't have to feel like I have to defend my house dog's hunting capabilities. I used to be a member on Archerytalk.com and the many forums on the website would take jabs at someone because they shot a Matthews, Hoyt, PSE, Bowtech, etc. It was so ridiculous and juvenile. I hope this isn't a repeat of the drama over there. PS. I am so happy to hear all of the great comments from owners of Layla's pups. She is a great mama, and her pups always have a great dispositon, and from what I hear, hunt great as well. Keep enjoying them as I enjoy their mama!

I was along on this hunt, and first one to the bay like always.. I couldnt tell you which dogs caught first, but when we got in there, she was locked on the hogs ear, along with a piece of Meatheads nose!! Paul, I think if you could hunt her more, she would make a dang good CD... shes just a slight bit out of shape from laying around the house... Every dog has to start somewhere....ive seen alot of dogs not catch their very first time. Tom my other CD would bay by himself the first couple times he saw a hog, but with alittle help from Meathead he got it figured out.... Now he is a pretty good CD... Not sure if Caleb told you or not, but we caught 3 sows and 8 piglest last Sunday.... I dont guess you've hunted with Tom, but here he is catching a little sow....Meathead was there, but you can see him trip over the log on the way in there...

If she will catch and has been proven then who cares if she is a house dog. She has it in her to do it. IMO that would be breed worthy. As far as starting out.. like this dog did.... some dogs have things that need to be corrected or learned but can be corrected or learned with time and experience. It looks like she has got it straightend out to me. I dont know all the drama behind this but this dog seems to catch very well and id like to have one but I guess everyones standards are different.
