Me and a buddy headed out this morning for a quick hunt in one of my favorite spots. Before we got to the area we intended to start hunting we saw where a large hog had wallowed and rooted in the road. Turned loose his airedale/english shaggy. He checked out the scene and darted off. In a short time we hear him start baying about a 200 yards out. Turned loose my plott and his ariedale to him. They were bayed in a nasty briar patch around the corner beside the road. Got close and sent in both catch dogs and got the boar cuffed up quickly. Good thick hog about 230, had long whetters but both cutters were broke off short and he was shredded from fighting. After we loaded him I noticed he had BLUE eyes. This is only the second one I have seen like this (not counting the one Mike had on here last year).
Any body else run into blue eyed hogs?

I missed the hunt but Mike cought a blue eyed sow last year and tied it up and still has it in his pen. Pretty neat looking hog. She had white skin pigment blotches all over her.

I think the blue butts line has blue eyes I have never seen one in the wild but I don't know if thats the only domestic with blue eyes.

Send that sucker to Texas... we'll see if we can get a blue-eyed line going.  I still haven't found anyone else that's seen one. |

Mr. hg i do believe that the bluebut is a demestacated breed and i am pretty sure they haveblue eyes

A blue butt is a york-hamp cross. They win a lot of hog shows. Never seen one with blue eyes though.

I own a big PINK domestic sow with one left blue eye and brown right eye, last litter she threw one pig with two blue eyes but they were not tough enough to survive in the pen with other hogs, Anyway I don't have a clue as to what breeds she is made up of, but she is not built like a show hog, she is long and bacon sided.
