Got 2nd place could of had 1st by just six pounds, got biggest boar at 243 pounds field dressed,  missed biggest cutters by 1/16 of an in. Good turn out... We got to the place and unloaded the dogs within five mins, we had a bay on a little boar, then Bobby started baying at round one hundred yards, all the other dogs went to him couldn't really see how big he was cause he was down in a creek that had a drop off around twenty feet started moving down and and saw that we were in for a ride, Clayton and I jumped in and got ahold, but the bad part was that the creek was five foot deep so we are screaming for the other guys to come in and help cause he was big!!! We saw a log and pulled him to the log and set him on top off the log holding his head above water and tie him up. Then we had to pull him out of the creek witch was twenty foot drop. Good hog!!!!
This hog here was another good that we caught and turned in at 179 pounds field dressed, weight was around 245 not to bad... Just another day in the office!!!!!!

I think we placed some were in the middle I didn't even look really.  The place we went to usually holds some big boar hogs but just our luck we ran into a lot of sows and piglets .   We did get on a couple boars but they were smart ran us threw the sows and piglets got the dogs off of them then I missed the one big one was on him with one dog while my other Buddy's were at another bay couldn't get him stopped chased him threw a Johnson grass Field he nearly out ran my wheeler just as he got to the fence I pulled the gun and had him lined up at about 15 yards pull the trigger and the Winchester bullet was  a dud first time had that happen in a long long time .  Dog could not get him stopped by her self he hit the river and was gone.  If you count the little ones we totaled 16 but we didn't even bring them didn't think they would count but they would have lol just weighed in the five biggest we had .

The winning weight was 865 lbs. We had 860 lbs. Not bad for a 24 hour hunt with a shoot gun start. It started at 9:00 sat morning and they wanted all the teams to be there.

Good job!  As one second placer to another, to keep the tips from getting broken, I put a broomstick or larger diameter green hardwood stick about 6-8" long in their mouth right behind the canine teeth and tie or tape it there real good.  It keeps them from slamming their head down onto metal truck, ATV beds, or hog boxes and breaking off teeth.  Also protects you and dogs incase you trip and fall on the sucker.  I had a friend that lost a really good strike dog when she jumped a tied boar and it tusked her in the throat.
