As Tony (TSHELLY) told y'all, last Thursday evening I finally caught this big spotted barr that had been seen on game cameras for a few years in the deer leases around my house.

Since I found out a couple of weeks ago that my best dog, Roscoe, has cancer in his jaw muscle, and the Vet said that it is very aggressive and terminal, I thought this would be an awesome ending to a very tough career, since he just turned 10 yrs old in January, while also carrying Brucellosis for atleast the last 7 or 8 years. So I wanted this to be his bucket list hog!

Roscoe was in good spirits when I got home so I collared him and the two 17 month olds, my Goose and Tony's Briar, and Obama. We went down and drove around a thicket by a duck slough and then the Garmin showed they were off to the races, Roscoe 300-400 yds ahead of the younguns.  A few properties over and a couple of miles later they were bayed just as it was getting dark! That little track star took us on tour, but dumped us on a surprise! Jarred, Marshall and I drove within 150 yards and when we got in to the bay and turned Obama loose it broke. We get back to the buggy just as we realized that they circled and came right back to where it started and they were all caught! So we all go back in and when we get there dogs and hog are all wore out! I leg him and it takes everything the three of us have to get him out of the stump hole and tied!
We get a few pics, then get him back to my house where Tony "Mr. Paparazzi" meets us and we weighed him, 380 pounds, but it broke my scales. The next day Marshall buys new scales and 24 hours after being caught he was 390! It could not have turned out any better for Roscoe, except it could have been daylight, I hate hunting at night!

Then on Saturday I take Tony and the boys to my deer lease and we catch these two barrs that he posted already but I could not view the pics so I better add them, 295 and 310! This is why we don't fill up our buggies with dog boxes, we fill them with PORK!

Man what a great Barr!  I think I would definitely have to mount him on the wall just to commemorate the hunt and a great dog that retired on such a great hog.  I am real sorry to hear about Roscoe but it sounds like he has been able to do more "living" than most.
