Lance Falzone, "catchrcall", is overseas serving our country and has been working his tail off, along with the LSWDA, in getting this bill drawn up and sponsored. This deserves everyone's attention... it applies to ALL OF US as owners of working dogs. Thank you. http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/index.php?topic=25791.0

The Post and Bill proposal mentioned by Mike is a "PROTECTION" For ALL of Us and for those of you that don't care or won't take the time to read something that doe not concern you, Then you should take the time to know what will AFFECT YOU come September 1st this year if it passes, Such As HB 998 Under the bill, many sporting dog owners (hunting dogs) will be forced to buy the insurance policy, neuter their dog, or face criminal charges. In addition, a large number of sporting dog breeds weigh more than 20 pounds and would be considered "unrestrained" under the bill's definition when hunting, training, or field trialing. Even a securely tethered dog would be considered unrestrained by this bill. OR Texas HB 1451 Rep. Thompson's Anti-Breeder Bill Filed Today! This bill will limit the number of intact dogs you may have without carrying a Breeders license which allows the inspectors to come onto and into your properties without notice or being let in, Read the bill, in theory it sounds good, in actuality it gives the potential to have animal inspectors to violate your constitutional rights without notice, its tricky langauge desguises the truth HOWEVER IF YOU WILL PRINT OUT A LETTER, PUT IT IN A stamped ENVELOPE AND PUT IN THE MAILBOX TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVE YOU CAN AVOID ALL THIS OTHER BILLS FROM NOW AND IN THE FUTURE It takes less time to do then all of You spend on this Forum Each day to make you and your dogs exempt from many bills to come that we would have to fight eachand everyone. WE NEED ALL OF YOU to do this ONE TIME. go to the front page of www.lswda.org and follow the instructions, Its Simple PREVENTION to put the ANTIS to a rest as far as our hunting dogs go

WE HAVE 16 DAYS TO MAKE ENOUGH NOISE TO GET THIS BILL FILED. After that it's too late and we won't get another chance until next session. The Anti's already have their bills introduced and numbered. They WILL make it at least to committee.

That's kind of odd, I've never run into that before. I hope you just got the wrong grouchy intern. I don't know really what to say since we don't have a bill number yet, it's a bill number that we're trying to get. If you've got the patience and didn't tell them the first time around you might try again and let them know that we are looking for a sponsor. I do thank you for your effort, and if all else fails you can still mail the letter.

Well if at first you dont succeed try and try again. I just got off the phone with Sen Rodney Ellis office and they are going to have his team take a look at the proposal and get back with me. If I have heard nothing by Friday morning I will call again. I am now calling my Rep Ron Reynolds to try and get them to look at it. I have letters printed out and will be on the way this week too. I will do one for everyone in my office as well as everyone in my whole family that will be about 30 people just from me. I know it is not much but I will know that I did what I could.

That is PHENOMENAL! Awesome effort BigDaddy and thank you so much. You're right, can't forget those senators either. It's gotta go through them eventually, and one of them may start it off.

Riley, first and foremost your State Representative, but it does not hurt to send it to your senator also if this goes like we are hoping they too will see it adventually.
JUG, We are hoping after this becomes a bill and is passed it will set precedent for other states to follow too, It sure will be better to prevent having to fight 4-5 bills every single session that are intended for pet breeders. We are already starting to see some in other states also send this [roposal to their representatives too, as it is Pro Active solution.

Riley, you can send it to both the State address and their District address, they should have personnel in both areas. Right now tho since they are "in session" your State Representatives and Senators will be in Austin. We are finding out that faxes, snail mailed letters and phone calls are getting the most attention. Krystal is right in stating that the State Rep is the first one but you can send a copy and letter to your Senator too as eventually this Bill will have to go through there too.
Jug, LSWDA is hoping that this does set a precedent for other states to follow suit. We hope that we can help sustain our working dogs for ourselves and our future generations!

People please keep writing and folowing up with your representatives, get the letter printed with signatures from your family members, Neighbors, Feed Store workers and companies you buy your supplies from, Help Others to Help Us and Our dogs, then sent off to their representatives also.
WE ARE DOING GOOD, EVERYONE THAT HAS PUT FORTH EFFORT, WE ARE HEARING THAT ITS WORKING, BUT CAN"T STOP UNTIL WE HAVE THIS FILED AS A BILL, THEN WE HAVE TO CONTINUE GAINING SUPPORT TO HAVE THIS VOTED INTO LEGISLATION,
ALL THIS LEGISLATIVE ISSUES WILL TAKE AFFECT of FALL THIS YEAR AND CAN"T BE DONE ANYTHING WITH AGAIN FOR ANOTHE TWO YEARS IF IT DOES NOT HAPPEN THIS SESSION.
Dexters right lets show everybody how much BOTTOM that WE have!

To all of the hog doggers and owners of working dogs who are tired of being or in danger of being caught between legislation meant to restrict, require permits, require mandatory spay / neuter. It's time to WALK the TALK. Look into this, get this message out, and pass it around. This doesn’t just apply to hunting dogs and you don’t have to even own working dogs to support this proposed bill. This proposed bill benefits the public and all working dog owners including: dogs used for police, military, substance detection, protection, and service /assistance or therapy animals. Contact your representatives TODAY. Instructions and a sample letter are on the LSWDA website. http://www.lswda.org/
