Beulah ran him for 2 miles before he found a blow over to hole up in. When I got in there to video he got real nervous, wanting to leave. The 3 dogs were giving him a good time. In the first video when he leaves, he jumps over the blow down tree trunk, and gets gone. They stopped him about 50 yards away to fight some more. I attempted to disbatch him, but one of the hounds decided to go in before I was ready for her too. I shot low to avoid her, and hit his leg. He was limping when I started filming again. I have several other video clips where I tell them to break (so I can disbatch him), but Ramsey planned on catching him eventually. She never would give me the room I needed to get it done safely. The property manager wanted the hogs dead. I was hunting alone. For those reasons, I elected to shoot him (as I generally don't hunt a catch dog). In the end he died. The property manager was happy, as was the dogs' owner.

I've seen worthless Blueticks and worthless Walker dogs. But i've also seen excellent dogs in both breeds as well. One makes just as good of a hog hound as the other. It really comes down to the person that raised and trained the dog. But enough of that, excellent video and dog work!

I've got a good buddy that hunts a walker. He us a HOG DOG through and through. That being said, I've never wanted to feed him. I like what I like, and he likes what he likes. No one is right or wrong. We just have 2 different interests. I am a firm believer that you should hunt what pleases you. You're the one that has to sleep with your decisions. Same could be said of my friends that hunt cur packs. They all have at least 1 HOG DOG in their kennels.
Thanks for the comments.

I like walkers, redbones, blue ticks, redticks and plotts but since I have limited space I like and keep MTN CURS. I reckon you can just call them watered down hounds. Good video and nice dog work...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Great videos, beautiful hounds. I'm partial to blueticks, and I like to hear those long bawls, but all in all , I like a dog that likes to bay hogs. Ya'll keep up the good work.
