So my buddy and I decided we were going to try hog hunting with dogs...I picked up a year old cat. gyp and he wanted to try out a stray that came up on his farm and a Mullins Feist gyp he has...we worked the dogs twice in a 2acre squirrel pen(hog pen now I guess) on a barr that came off some wood hogs we cought & carried them to the woods...never thought we would get on a hog the 1st time out & we got the whole thing on video...needless to say we are hooked for here on out! Thanks for watching... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCOPisElRbU

nice video... I bet that mullins is going to be a hog finding machine. The red dog with the pale face looks like mtn cur. That catahoula looks like it can run all day.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Thanks...that Mullins gyp is the main dog right now she's pretty intense...my cat. gyp hunts out about 300yrds I've only had her out that 1 time & she started coming in heat, she bays kinda loose by herself but I'm hoping she'll get a little tighter with some experience.

Good job, I remember my first catch with the dogs. What a rush! You'll be in the market for a couple of good catchdogs now!

Great hunt and great video! I've been a hog hunter almost 2 years and I've caught hogs and I've shot hogs. I like shooting them over my bay dogs better than catching them with the bulldog and I can do both. There's not much video out there featuring hogs shot over bay dogs, so to me this video offers some great rare footage. What kind of gun did you kill him with? How many shots did it take? What kind of ammo did you use?

That is awesome. Its good to see you don't have to spend 5000 on a pack of dogs. Just take what you have and catch some hogs.

Thanks for the compliments...Denny was shooting a 10/22 that we built, shooting Remington 550's, and it took 4 shots.
