sc. low country hunt

curdogsforhogs,myself and nate made a trip from the top of sc to the bottom.hunted some of the worst briars,vines and cain all mixed together.hogs were hard to stop,but our pack was persistant.caught 6.four rangeing from 30 to 80lbs.the last two went around 175 to 200.had a good time till lunch time sat.dogs had been on a good hog for an hour.stopped him once and he broke.made another 600yrd run and showed bayed.the race was on to get to them.i was on foot with the bull.curdogs was coming around the road in the truck.bulldog made the bay right before us.hog was shaking dogs and tried to get curtis.long story short got hog killed Emma birdbull cross.got a bad cut to her stomach.all efforts were made toget propper medical assitance.she died at the vet.she will be greatly missed .she was ahog finding machine.bill bmc had a bad cut to his shoulder and chest and leg.bulldog was cut from eyeball to her ear on the oppiste side.hers a few pic didnt get any of smaller pigs things got too hecktic.Emmas the red in white dog in the bay pic.

Too bad about your dog, this is a tuff sport for the dogs.  We lost one so far this year, and had a bunch get nicked.  But heck, there's no doubt that the dogs live for it, and would be less for it, if they weren't able to hunt.

Now the worst part of the story.curtis was given a business card of a vet by a local hog hunter.he called ahead and told them his situation.they told him to bring her on.upon arival the vet came in to view the dog and told him.oh no this is gonna take longer than 30min.i have regular customers comming for horse vaccinations in 30min.youll have to take her somewhere else.he headed home and left her with an emergency vet.this was after our vet we just started using told him bring her on then he couldnt get keys to a clinic to use.after a very exspensive surgery he picked up his dead dog the next am.
