Got a call from a neighbor the other day sayin' I had a dog out and they couldn't get it caught and it was barking and growling at them. I told them it  prolly ain't mine if it's acting like that but I'd be home in 20 mins just make sure it don't get run over because I live on the corner of a busy intersection for right now. got to the house and sure enuff it wasn't mine. Me being the hog hunter I am saw this scared hungry pit gyp. She got growly with me but went in the house and grabbed my catchdog and some left over chicken. This dog bout got hit 4 times while I was there. Finally got her out of the road and my dog and her started sniffing each other. Coaxed her over to me with some chicken. Got her caught and penned up and fed her a lil bit. Bout 20 mins later she was right at home. Gonna keep her and try this dog out. I think she's from 6-10 months old not real sure though. but here she is. Took me all week to name her but I think I'm gonna go with Duchess.

Not trying to sound like an A$$ but dont you think you should try and find the owner before you take claim to the dog and put her on a hog?

I'm pretty positive she was dumped on me. No one in my area can hardly stand to see the pits I have. How furocious they are. where I live some one would have done laid claim because the farmers 2 miles in any direction of me would have seen her she'd done me a dead dog. So I'm pretty sure she was dumped out on me. Nothin' but skin and bones and growlin' and barkin' at everyone. There's only a few people in my area that have pits and we all know each other and what we all have.

My bad, from your post it sounded like you live in town with a busy intersection, if your in the country I understand its probilly a dumped dog. Hope she works out, them free ones are the best kind. Good luck.

Watch those dumped dogs. You don't know why they were dumped. I have buried a couple of my dogs I liked because people dumped their problems. The tail tucked makes me wonder how she was treated. I am always leery because some people still breed for fighting and start to train and then dump the culls. But they are too dog aggressive or they are people aggressive. I am not saying anything about that dog just what dumped dogs I have had to deal with. She does look good and I hope she can have a good home with you. I figure I am aggressive and confrontational but I love to hunt. If I was a dog they would have put me down Grin I almost took a guy out at the grocery store the other day I should have a sign on my shirt that says beware of human. So I really do pull for the dog to find a place.

well with in less then a week of having her she's gained 5 lbs. she's tole a hole in my chainlink gate 2 times and had gotten out but she never went 2 far and hasn't been growly since the first and I think that she was just scared and hungry. got her on a chain now and that's seemed to work quite well. hasn't shown any aggression towards dogs or other humans. Got a good mean sounding bark on her if she don't work as a catchdog lol. I think she'll do just fine once I get to working with her. Still trying to figure out how old she is. I have 2 pit pups that are 9 months old but it's hard to judge off them cuz they are 80 lbs already I'm guessing 7 or 8 months. Might try her on a small hog next week and see.
