Ok boys and girls I hate to start a post like this without having my own pics but, Would like to see everybody's Kennel designs. Concrete, dirt, off the ground, along with housing designs. Lets see your best and your new idea's that yall have gotten creative with. Happy Hunting

For now it is kennels from TSC on dirt and some on concrete.

Here's a post where I built mine almost two years ago.  I've tweaked and changed a few things since, but overall they have worked very well for me.  The best part of the whole gig is the septic system I installed.  Having dogs on concrete requires an (almost) daily washing, but it's much cleaner and no odor.

I recently built a real nice puppy pen, and will have to post a few pics of that and some pics of my newest yellow pups later.

I have had these a little over a year now and I really like them, no compaints or regrets on them.

Nice design Matt. I will have to post the off tha grounds I built. So far they are the best thing I have put a dog in for the last 20 plus yrs. Did you butt your decking boards up close together or space them for draining. If not how do you like the cleanup on em? Shoot some more pics when they are finished, we would all like to see how they turned out. Thanks for sharing.

This picture here is about what it looks like today, this was taken last March but the only difference is there is no plywood up for the whelping pen and I have water and electricity with lights in the kennels now.  I have more young dogs now then I have ever had at one time and a few have tried to chew on my 2x4"s that hold the houses up but that is about it.  I butted the boards when I built it but as they have shrunk I am left with a good gap and I just wash the solids out the back.

I like the design Matt. Might have to do a little copy cattin myself. Did you buy your metal pannels or fabricate em yourself?  

Bryant all I can say bro is Holy Smokes. That is sure enough the way to do it . How is the odor now that they have been in there for awhile do you have any at all? That was my only reservation with building concrete. I truthfully don't think you left anything uncovered. That is truthfully a Cadillac of any private kennels I have put my eyes on. Well done and "Yes" we want to see the Yeller Pups.

They are all Priefert brand kennels that pin together.  I have a good amount of money in my set up but I plan on having it for a long time and if I ever want to I can take the kennels down and sell them.  The roof is the same way and most of the lumber could be re-used.  I just hate spending money knowing what I building cant be taken down and moved so this system has worked great for me and the elevate kennel floor is the only to fly for me.  I have snakes really bad back there along the creek and this has saved me a lot of grief in just the first year it was up I gurantee.

How is the odor now that they have been in there for awhile do you have any at all? That was my only reservation with building concrete.

There is absolutely no odor.  I wash with plain water daily, then once a month all the kennels get a scrub down with soap and a rinse with a product I found called "K.O.E" which stands for kennel odor eliminator.  I'm telling you, that stuff is a miracle chemical.  You can google it and read more about how it works.  I try to be very cautious about what goes down the drain because of the septic.  When I put the septic in, in my mind I was going to be satisfied if I had to have it pumped once a year.  Knock on wood, I'm going on two years of housing +/- 15 dogs at all times and its still working like a champ.  There's been a *LOT* of poop that's gone down that thing!  I do put the septic tank treatment down the drain once monthly.

Here's the 30' X 20' puppy pen I just built behind the regular pens.  The only thing I still have left to do is put a gutter along the roof overhang so rain water doesn't pour right in the pen.  That's probably a project for this weekend.

I have decided to wait to build until I move. But I would go with cement. Drop a 1/4 inch for every foot(I think that is right) and the poop should wash real easy. I would fab the panels if you have time. You can get better quality for less money. Figure out what size angle or square tubing and call scrap metal yards. Just know what lengths you need, you can make it shorter easier than longer. You can weld it up and paint it and it will look good. The wire or panels are not easy to get at scrap yards so buy it new and get good quality. Depending on where you are I may know someone that knows someone to help with the angle or tubing whatever you want. Figure out what you want and I can make a call.

I need to get some new pics, but you have an idea.  Dont be afraid to put a slope on the floor.  I wish I would have done more slope to the back to catch the crap..

Yes, the magic slope is 1/4 inch for every foot.

This was my incomplete set up.

 I done put a roof over them now those are three I have four right now and two more on the way for a total of 6--- I set everything up on pavers so I can lift up and go when I buy more land out in the country which is the dream.

Next week I should have them all done and Ill post pictures of them ---it is a simple set up but they work well for me--- and the important thing to me is that they are movable---

Well guys I was thinking I was gonna post my own kennels on here since I started the thread, but after you guys set the bar so high I think ill pass and start taking notes. Ha Ha. Well done by all.
