Has anyone had any experience with this unit? Retails for $289, or should I just save a little more and invest in a tri-tronics? Looking for the best deal. Thanks for any advice.

I'm pretty sure that's the model I have.  Had it three years and no problems yet.  Use it almost every week on my trashy mongrels.  Wink

I have had mine for three years haven't had any issues! I used to have a tri-tronics trash breaker it was a good system but I had some issues with it. That being said I wouldn't go buy any of the cheaper sport dog units! I had buddies who bought them and had lots of issues! The 2500 hasn't failed me yet. Just my two....

I've had one with three collars for three of four years haven't had problem but if I was to buy a new system I'd spend the extra money and get one  of the sportdog models with the smaller controller because I've yet to find easy comfortable way to carry hand unit.

I bought one that was partially used on ebay. yeah I did take a gamble but I've been super impressed with it. It's supposed to range out half a mile I believe and I can't see what they are barking at from that kind of distance so it's perfect for what I need. think i gave $170 for it. Lent it out a few times and those guys didn't have any complaints with it.
