The one that consistently produces pork day in and day out. The breed is just something for all of us to argue over...  Wink

no... I just have formed that opinion that day in and day out they are the best bay dogs in the bay pen.

I would bet that the top ten dogs at uncle earls will be mostly catahoulas.

Yep and them pen dogs are usually the first belly up in the woods from that nose to nose baying with em tame, run down, tired, caught hogs. I do agree about the cats gettin high scores in pens, an thats comin from a hard core Yeller man. The whole best bay dog thing as stated above (Whatever works best for you personally)

I have to go with the plotts, BUT, Thats only because thats what i have seen the most of. Just enough bite to stop one, then back up and bay, and if it breakes, they hangin off its tail.

But I agree 100% its not the breed, its the dog itself.
I own a little of everything, plotts, BMC's, and catahoulas.

I could care less what a dog does in a bay pen. The best I have ever hunted were red curs and Plotts.
