Nice lookin box - I've never used one of these aluminum type boxes. Question - why are the doors on these type of boxes always solid like this? Does that keep the dogs more calm? Or cooler? Not slamming this design on this box - just curious why they seem to always be build like that.

Thats a nice box. My dad had this one made out of some old monkey cages he found at the scrap yard, pluss a few extra parts like hinges and such. That was back when scrap aluminum was bringin top dollar and add in the labor for having it welded even recycled dog boxes are expensive. Only thing about it I dont like is the aluminum bars rattle so the box is niosy. Waylon

Not sure why others do it. But for me the box in constructed out of sheet metal. The sheet metal doors are stronger, and simple to build, if they are formed from a solid sheet. I also like the open tubing style. They are more expensive to build, and we do not stock that material.

Good looking box. My dad was a sheet metal worker and he made a lot of similar boxes for his friends when I was a kid. They all got good reviews from the guys that used them.
