BigL these would be great dogs even as a beginner you should be able to catch hogs with them once they are old enough. No one in the USA really one out hunts. So, I guess if you want to try your luck with a method perfected in another country, in terrain that differs greatly, these pups will keep you protected. The parents are not hunted one out but both have caught hogs solo in the woods. I have seen both grand parents (on the sire's side) run down hogs and catch and hold by themselves till I got there and tied or killed the hog.

american bulldogs make great RCDs if thats what your looking for, they got some hunt in them. I have one that has found his own pigs, but will also hunt with other dogs, honors a bay, catches on the ear, etc.
That being said, if they are anything like my dog, they will range out further and further, and that gets scarey when a bulldog becomes long range. Some pigs will not squeal, and if this dog is out far you wont hear him catch a big boar and that can lead to the bulldog getting killed or seriously hurt.
But its a risk either way, as a lead in or as an RCD, I havent ever "one outed" my dog before, thought about it, but I'm to chicken, lol
