I was at a ranch today and they had a black pit that was a real pretty dog . Dude said he found it running around Brock. My question is why would the dog have all his K9s sawed down. Is this for fighting? the guy said he thought that is what he had been used for. He decided to keep him ne ways b/c would for sure get put down at the shelter. Nice dog though.

You sure they arent just worn down flat? Maybe from chewing on something.
Doesnt make sense to file down a bulldog's teeth and take away his main tools.

if he was a bate dog his teeth would be sawed down so he wouldnt hurt the fighting dogs
but most bate dogs will not start a fight and thats why they are not fighters

i never thought about the baiting thing. as for being wore down they were just seemed too flat plateau like and almost even with the gum. You could see the nerve and the center layer of enamel. I would like to come across somebody doing that I would stick that file................

Could be broken off from catching hogs? I've had a few dogs canines get snapped off clean like that.

if it was a bait dog, would it still be the same for hogs or dogs?so maybe you could catch hogs with out ripping them apart?sounds like he has been to the dentist?  |

The "bait dog" was a theory created by PETA, unfortunately that theory became self fulfilling, in some instances, to street fighters of recent past.
Historically speaking, there was no such thing as "bait dogs" when it came to starting match dogs.

I have had dogs break teeth off biting the kennel fences and wear them even/ smooth because they continue to bite the fence over long periods of time
