your dogs are judged on controlling the hog if the dog loses eye contact with the hog or loops out they are deducted a point every time. and the dog has to make the hog be still or try to make him set up if the hog goes a certian distance usually about 25' or so with out the dog trying to shut it down that is drifting and the dog will have points deducted. also if the dog bays to loose or to far away from the hog it is deducted. or if the dog is to close or pressureing the hog to make him run then it gets points deducted. if the dog catches the hog when the hog stops the count begins and after 3 sec it will be dq. the cal cutta is the oction of the dogs performance before the bay starts that is just a pot for the winners. and thats about it im sure others will help fill you in if i missed somthin. but u can call me for any more question at 903 256 7178 or 903 968 2806

thank you for that. I have been trying to fig it out for awhile i was headed in the right direction. what about call out points? i have heard people talk about them but everywhere i have read say no points for callout. and what about no verbal commands? i have been to a couple of bayings now trying to understand and i read that you are not allowed to give verbal cures but everyone does?Huh??? i mean i understand that you can talk to your dog but hear them tell their dogs to go stop that hog ect.... will it depend on where your at? sorry for being a pain just want to understand before i jump off in this?? whole lot diff then in the woods...  thanks

Yes Joe, you can enter your dogs on saturday. At the last baying they will open the books before the event so that you can enter, and will close it right before the event starts. If nothing has changed, im sure this will be how it works. If not, Brandon Correct me.

on our flyer we advertised that dogs could not run other events if ran in the youth bay. this will not work because it will conflict with dogs running for points in other catagories. when the year started. but the dog ran in the youth bay must belong to the contestant that runs it and the youth need to be able to handle there own dog.
any questions u can cal 903 256 7178
sorry about the confusion
