It seems like it would be much harder at night. You cant see what your doing.

I hunt both about equally... I prefer hunting in the daylight. I enjoy seeing the dogs work and see everything that goes on. You miss a lot of that at night.

Im the same as mike i hunt both equally but i do think that if your hunting a pup you should take it during the day so it can see what its doing and so you can see what its doin i also think it gives it a little more confidence to the dog. Just my theory. Grin and one thing about hunting in the night is you can do it and you have less chance of runnin into deer hunters.

i hunt both just about equally... more at night during the summer.

hogs are calmer at night.

alot cooler in the summer at night.

more dangerous at night.

its easier to get lost at night.

Cactus are a lot harder to see at night.  Its been my experience that daytime hogs are more likely to run toward thick brush when the dogs are after them because they have been out feeding all night and are ready for the comfort of bed and protection of the brush.  During the night the hogs are hungry and are ready to eat therefore no rush to get back to the brush and stay out in the open and fight which makes getting to them easier.

I like to hunt during the day so I can watch my dogs work but here lately it seems like the only time I go hunt is after dark.  The pigs are moving more and the fact that I don't get off work during the week till after the sun goes down cuts out most of my day hunts now.

My first thought when I read this was that if your scared of the dark maybe you should take up sewing. You might poke your finger from time to time, but I hear its pretty safe overall.  Grin
   Sorry I couldn't help it.

Seriously though. I hunt both pretty equally and I like both equally.
