That's all I was trying to say i don't care if the dog is chained, zip lined, or kenneled, makes no difference just that they are taken care of.  I have chained dogs myself but they move from chain to kennel to zipline all the time.  Didn't intend on offending anyone.   Let me buy whoevers upset a virtual beer!

i keep all my dogs on 12 ft chains . only because i beleive thats the best way to keep them . more room , more exercise , more freedom = happier dogs .

   not to mention they will go to the end of the chain , take a dump and then kick it away from them . i could spend thousands on kennells but my dogs wouldnt be a damn bit better off .

   PEOPLE THAT DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT USING DOGS DONT HAVE ANY BUSINEES FORCING THEIR OPINIONS ON IGNORANT LAWMAKERS .

   if they come to my house , they can mind their manners , or get escorted to the mailbox .

   my people were making a living with animals since the early 1700's in this country ,  they whipped the savages , the british , the germans and japs and made this place even possible for these idiots to develop their stupid thoughts .

                                                              THEY HAD BETTER LEAVE ME ALONE !

i know what RaftersixRanch is trying to say, i have dogs that are on chains and kennels and even one running loose and i take very good care of my dogs, im not rich but they are taken care of, but i know where there are several dogs at the people are to sorry to go out there and give their dog a house to get out of the rain or get in the shade and probably have no water right now, and wheres some in kennels having to slide around for all the dog mess not even a clean place to put their feet at, im not a animal rights person but i think if someone owns a animal it should be took good care of or it should be took from them and them not allowed to have anymore, when a dog dies from having no water thats as low as it gets

I have 3 bulldogs that if you put them in Kennels they get depressed and lose weight. they are much happier on chains. my county told me the other day that if i want 2 keep them on chains they could not be anchored they need 2 b on cable runs. my problem with that is they will not have as much room 2 run ,

Here is the state law, counties may have their own law for the county. What county did this happen in?

Sec. 821.077.  UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT OF DOG.

  (a)  An owner may not leave a dog outside and unattended by use of a restraint that unreasonably limits the dog's movement:
(1)  between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.;
(2)  within 500 feet of the premises of a school; or
(3)  in the case of extreme weather conditions, including conditions in which:
   (A)  the actual or effective outdoor temperature is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit;
   (B)  a heat advisory has been issued by a local or state authority or jurisdiction; or
   (C)  a hurricane, tropical storm, or tornado warning has been issued for the jurisdiction by the National Weather Service.
       (b)  In this section, a restraint unreasonably limits a dog's movement if the restraint:
          (1)  uses a collar that is pinch-type, prong-type, or choke-type or that is not properly fitted to the dog;
          (2)  is a length shorter than the greater of:
             (A)  five times the length of the dog, as measured from the tip of the dog's nose to the base of the dog's tail; or
             (B)  10 feet;
             (3)  is in an unsafe condition; or
             (4)  causes injury to the dog.

 the incident happened in williamson county, out the city of florence tx, 20 miles north of georgetown tx. it is a good feeling, knowing that 1000's of service men and weman died for the rights and freedom of past, present and future generations to ruled by stupid people who know only the inside of a cubicle and have limited knowledge of the goings on in the worl other than by the news media. its time for the men and weman to take a stand and utilize our constitutional right to have an uprising when a government gets to powerful.

There is no state law saying that dogs can't be on chains. They just need to be 10' long and you need to have the rest of their needs tended to.

Not sure why everybody is making this post a political one. Let's all agree on one thing, if dogs had not been created, we human would be in a whole lot of trouble. Agree? So lets respect our dogs and give them a life they can enjoy as to say thank you for all the hard work they do.

He means the law doesn't state you can't have them on chains, instead it regulates that the chain be 10 feet long.  Hope that helps.
