I watch swamp people like a little kid watching cartoons, you could put that show on and rob me and I would never know, it's so bad, I'm going on record to say if I was not so proud of being a Texan I would move to la I'n a heart beat

Guys, i've been on quite a few gator "hunts" with guys around here that go. Its more like fishing than hunting. The gator is caught on a line, much like running catfish lines. The Swamp People show is about 99% BS!!! They intentionally make the gators on the show thrash around for the cameras, its usually very quick and calm. This show is Hollywooding it up for the national audience. BTW i live in the heart of the Atchafalaya Basin where they are filming the show.  Dont mean to ruin the show for ya'll but its really funny for someone thats done it before.

I would really like to get a gator with a bow. I think in Texas I have to be on private land. The laws seem murky about using a bow instead of a hook. So if someone does it I would like to tag along and figure out how to do it.

I never found it to exciting. Never saw any challenge in it, like i said its like running a bunch of single hook trot lines. the gator usually just eases on up to the surface, you put the gun barrel about an inch away from his head and pop, its over like that. The hardest part of it is lifting them in the boat after they dead...........

Lolol x2 but I live in Joe and Tommie neck of the woods and talk to them in the regular bases the pretty laid back people but it is funny how one min they in a flat boat then a lake skiff then when they catch it they back in the flat boat bad editing lol but they told me they really don't make much $$$$ with the show more like fame than anything Tommy said he picks up more women now than he ever dud man I wish I was on a tv show lolololol

I have been hunting and catching gators just about all my life, but have been doing it for a living for 11 years. But here in Florida, I hunt most of my gators at night. I shine there eye's at night then, with a trolling motor I slipp up on them and shoot them with a bow witch has 600 lb gator cord attached to a gator gitter point on an arrow and you shoot them in the neck area with the arrow, and then you hold on for the ride of your life...  I catch gators for the state of Florida and guied gator hunts also. I am also  a pro staffer for muzzy broad heads .   it is safe to say the way I do it is nothing like the show and it is nothing like fishing  it does however have every thing to do with hunting...
