Hunted with 2. They were awesome in open woods and fields. Throw them in a briar patch and they lose their luster, But they were definitley worth having in certain situations..

We're having trouble stopping the runners............seems like thats all we have left. I swear thaese hogs have evolved into track stars.
Just trying to find a way to add some speed to the pack.

A good friend of mine uses them and stags. His are very fast, very gritty, and will catch anything. Like chainrated said, they're used best in the open where they can put it in that higher gear and cover ground. Here's one of his dogs that I have a pic of.  |

I have always thought about 1/4 grey hound 1/4 bird 1/2 bulldog or pit. Idk why but for some reason this cross intrigues me

I have seen a few. looked like that one except heavier jaw and head.
I would cross those back to a leggy pit and have a dog with lots of speed and jaw power.

Pearl is all sight. No extra jaw needed either. Once she's on, SHE'S ON!!! She was very young in that pic (6-8 months but she's 2-3 years now). There is a younger litter of Greyhound/Pits that he has and all are doing excellent at 8-9 months of age. My buddy is Australian (lives in Missouri now) and he likes this type of dog b/c they use it a lot back home. He's got an excellent bird/bull line too. Soon the two lines will worked in together. This should give a similar dog as the Australian Bull Arab b/c they were originated from bird dogs, greyhounds, and bull terriers.

Puttin a greyhound mix dog on a hog, seems like puttin a boar in a hall full of mirrors so to speak.
....on the other hand, i lean more to great dane or stags. heavier built dogs FTW!!

I ran into a guy in west Texas that was a coyote man. He had a bunch of grey hounds and needed a little more grit in them. He crossed them with a pit and then bred those dogs back to grey hounds. According to him that was a good mix.
They tell me grey hounds don't have much sense around fences.

There is a guy on Facebook that has two on there right now. Both pups. Should be on the Southeast Texas Hog Dog group and maybe one called Hog Doggers. I will see if I can find it for you
