We got smoked today. We turned out around 7am this morning within 10 minutes we had a solid bay. Since it was the first day we got to hunt since deer season started we decided to let the dogs work a little. After about 15 minutes of a solid bay we started walking into the thicket. We got within 100yds of the bay and the hog broke. We tracked that boar about 2 miles into a creek. We finally got to see what the dogs had bayed it looked like a bull yearling standing in the creek. Every dog was 15ft from that big some of a gun. We tried to get close enough to shoot him but he broke again so we called the dogs off. 6hrs on one hog is long enough plus we were wet and tired maybe next time. Angry

At least your dogs ran a hog. Saturday our dogs stretched a possum, ran a coyote out of a stand of canes and across a wheat field (it is almost impossible to run over a coyote on a 4 wheeler) hunted rats a while, dug some holes. We logged 30 miles on the wheelers and didnt sniff a pig! So it could be worse!!
