Gonna start this one off. I would like to see your very best Strike dogs. Don't care if you have been hunting 5 month or 50 years. Only post your #1's. These are the dogs that have impacted and set the standard for everything else to come that you run old or new. This thread is not for any certain type of breed, color, age, or preference. I wanna see your building block strike dogs. Also give a brief run down for each Dog posted. No #2's please only lead strikes. Lets see all the can't buy em dogs... boys and girls!!!! (Sorry for the blacked out face but gotta do it for the job) My first two Yellers. Gyp on the left was a true old timey Thicket dog. Would do it all tree, bay and herd cattle. The young gyp on the right was my first true long range strike and made a hell of a woods hound. This is a pair of litter mates I owned later on down the road out of the young gyp above. Both were sure enough but the gyp on left was sure a one in a thousand dog for me. They were a little banged up from a bad one in this pic Same two as above but better pic This was also a pair of litter mates from the mid 90's. I owned the one on the left and my cousin the one on right. They were both two of the best to date I have ever owned. I got mine killed at two years old and his was killed by hog at age nine. I had another pup out of my dog in this pic that later became another can't buy him dog named Trooper. I will try and post a pic of him when I find a good one.

This is Sadie, one of the 1st really good strike dogs we had back in the early 90's. This is a horrible picture of her at about 10 yrs. old, but its the only one Ive got. We got her from the late Richard Cuin from Corrigan TX. Richard had some real gritty dogs back then and his younger females were pretty rough on her, so she quit hunting for him and he thought she was done. He had some year old male pups out of her that were big stout chuckle headed dogs and my dad had been begging him for one. Finally he gave in and said we could have one if we took ole Sadie too, since she was good for nothing. He was WRONG, within a few weeks, she was finding hogs for us every hunt, and was hands down the best puppy trainer Ive ever seen. Seemed like she would come get a young dog that wanted to hang around and make him go with her. The only thing left from her bloodline is Cristina's dogs that are down from her Sadie dog which was this Sadie's grand daughter. She was a good old dog, we miss her alot

I have not been doing this 2 long. but this is Lily she is the best i have. She can get it done in the woods or in the pen. she gets a little catchy some time but we dont have to many runners with her on the ground. and i would like to think Alan Kinn(hogzgonewild) for her

Here's the best two on my yard now, Tweety and her grandson Hunter. With Tweety being down most of this past year with pups, a blown ankle and now recovering from ankle surgery... Hunter has filled the #1 spot nicely.

Skunk Thats quite a combo bet she was game. Never have ran across an irish wolfhound cross. Very interesting. DragginWeight Didn't know you owned a glass eye. And thats sure enough a good lookin one to boot. LOL Sharp brother very Sharp. Mike Finally I get to see the Tweet. She definantly marked them pups of yours. Whats the story on ol blue. Don't remember you tellin me. But I have a terrible memory anyway. Also see you are still hunting the camo dog that I am willing to take off your hands and spray paint Yeller. I hate to admit it but seeing its your site I can probably get away with saying I like ol Hunter and he lives up to his name. Thanks for the posts guys they are all fine lookin lead dogs. keep em comming

This is Woodrow. He was really an outstanding dog. He taught me the importance of a good tracking system. This dog would leave the country when you turned him out. Cold nosed and silent on track. Before I owned a tracking system I lost him several times. I had trouble keeping up with him with a tracking system. I hunted him up until he was nine years old. He was the best dog I have ever hunted with. I will never forget this dog. Grand babies out of this dog have made good dogs. Coal, this is were Camo gets his color from. This is Smoke. The best dog I've ever raised. Truly a go yonder kind of dog. Very cold nosed and silent on track. Has been a outstanding dog since he was 6 months old. Both of these dogs were not for the weak hearted hog hunters. There was no limit to how long they would run. They hunted for themselves and I just tryed to keep up. Many a hog fell to these two guys. Pups out of these two I've used for cow dogs and hog dogs and they work. Crosses from these two lines seem to be working.

Man I wish I knew for sure. She was full YMBC saw couple of her litter mates. I bought her out of an old man's yard in bout 88. He was using her for a cow/hog dog. She ran loose on his place and had raised couple of good litters. Paid $100 for her back then that was a small fourtune seemed like. I used her and for bout 10 yrs smoked every critter that walked in these piney woods behind her. Coon, squirrel, hogs, cows. She was a true meat dog with the smarts to pull off of what you did not want her to run.

Not my dog but is owned by Andy Garcia, he is the dog we judge our dogs by, he is about 2 yrs, no dog aggression, about 50 # wet, drive, bottom, etc. He was outstriking all our dogs at 1 yr. He is out of David Thoms yard and his high % yellow jacket and WB. Just found a female that hunts alot like him and she will be having pups shortly. Jerryg

-mike Thanks Mike. Tweety is a catahoula out of some old cow dog stock out near LaGrange,Tx. Hunter has a little catahoula, brindle cur, bmc and a touch of plott in him. His mooma was a cat x brindle cur cross and his daddy was a 3/4 bmc x 1/4 plott.
