Hi, I have two dogs A boxer and a Mutt (Mutt looks in every way like a heavy set cur) Both have good prey drive and are very athletic but never seen a hog Mutt is a 9-12 months old and Boxer is 12-15 months. Is it to late to start them on a hog at that would their breed inhibit their hunting ability? Thanks Josh PS the mutt is 63 pounds and will probably get to 65-70 and the boxer is 45-50 pounds but hes bulking up a lot so he will be like 60-75 at least after a program I got him on of protein, some supplements and exercise

no its not too late if you ask me... i would try to find a buddys dog or someones dog that maybe knows what they are doing and throw them in the pen with a pig and see how it goes.... just see what happens and try to go from there... hope it works out for you

I know of a couple guys that don't start dogs till 9-12 months let's some of the pup get out of them sometimes. I'd get a 30lb shoat in a pen and see if the mutt will try to get in to the shoat. If not get with someone like kader said and give him an example to follow.
